About the role:

Boston Scientific’s ERP Transformation program is seeking an IT Program Director (IT Program Director) responsible for guidance and oversight of Boston Scientifics ERP transformation program. This highly visible role will actively influence and communicate the ERP transformation program design and execution with key and senior leadership across the Global IT organization and areas within the Boston Scientific corporate and business teams. More specifically, this role will provide program leadership, alignment, and execution oversight across our SAP transformation to S4 HANA. This position will establish the program that establishes and operates strategy as a process, including:

Business model & capability analysis & assessment;

Theme identification;

Portfolio & roadmap alignment;

Operating model levers & changes;

Financial operating plan assessment & input;

Partnering to communicate & socialize program elements

Accomplish results through cross-functional teams and collaboration with leaders across the organization

 

Your Responsibilities:

Leadership:

  • Provide leadership, through strategic direction and active engagement, to align Global IT strategy development and execution process with Corporate strategy requirements and outcomes.
  • Contribute to the assessment of business and technology risk and reward in portions of technology strategy development and design.
  • Assess program requirements, manage to completion, identify and manage program resources, preparing and presenting proposals and recommendations to senior management.
  • Manage the development of global strategies and operating model components. Provide guidance to leaders to ensure successful alignment & completion of objectives & goals.
  • Foster a servant leadership culture through active engagement, leadership and the creation of a strong sense of alignment to organizational goals

 

Resource Management:

  • Oversee the planning and utilization of resources related to business and IT transformation.
  • Manage issues associated with strategy and program interdependence, resource allocation, financial management, communications, and organizational change management.
  • Partner with senior IT leadership to forecast, secure and allocate personnel to approved and budgeted activities utilizing methods balancing priorities, project requirements, and staff development. Provide proactive feedback to allocated resources and current processes.

 

Employee Development:

  • Foster a positive, engaging and challenging team-focused global work environment to ensure high productivity, employee engagement, and optimal performance.
  • Ensure that the ERP Transformation program is aligned and completed according to our commitments, following standard global processes and in a team-oriented way.
  • Foster a Global team, driving partnership and collaboration across Boston Scientific regions and geographies (i.e., ensuring unique geographical requirements are identified, understood, and global teams are appropriately engaged to support the program or project).

 

Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain active, collaborative relationships with all levels of leadership across key business stakeholders and Global IT at Boston Scientific. Ensure high level partnering on strategic initiatives and business priorities.
  • Drive partnerships and strengthen relationships across all Global IT and key Corporate organizations.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to Global IT team members aligned to the program.
  • Identify and assess opportunities and risks, including alignment to strategic outcomes, execution capabilities, and operational and integration synergies and issues.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • 15+ years of IT experience with Bachelor’s degree
  • 13+ years of IT experience with Master’s degree
  • 5+ years supporting complex client business capability needs, requirements assessment and solutions development
  • 5+ years business capability definition & business process modeling
  • 3+ years leading strategic planning processes
  • 3+ years of business and/or technical consulting experience or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience and strong knowledge of technology-related financial, operating model, and communications (e.g., organizational change management) processes

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • High degree of ‘learning agility’ with the ability to readily consume and apply new information and concepts with developed analytical problem-solving skills
  • Experience managing a Global team or program in a large, corporate matrixed organization
  • Experience in business capability modeling and process management and engineering
  • Excellent leadership and teamwork skills
  • Business focused leadership with ability to turn business vision, capability needs, and process requirements into strategy development deliverables
  • Strong communication skills, including with employees, clients, senior management and vendors
  • Strong results orientation (driving to deadlines, financial targets, project goals, etc.)
  • Ability to work collaboratively and partner with business leadership, employees, and vendors
  • Demonstrated ability to work across many levels of an organization, from VP to non-exempt staff
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a virtual organization
  • Proven knowledge and discipline around global functional annual operating plan planning and execution
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Excellent presentation skills including the ability to translate strategy and technology into business terms
  • Strategy methodology training and organizational capability & process implementation successes
  • Experience mentoring, training and coaching diverse staff
  • Work experience in the Medical Device Industry, or other regulated industry
  • Ability to mentor and develop resources in strategy development & execution and operating model concepts
  • Able to work independently and cooperatively
