R&D Manager II, ASIC and Electrical Design, Implantables

 

About the role:

  • Unique opportunity to lead an experienced and talented team of ASIC and hardware electrical engineers in the design, development and commercialization of innovative implantable products.
  • Responsible for activities related to research and development.  Such activities may include the technical support and process development engineering functions of a product manufacturing area; planning and implementing the development of new processes, establishing operating equipment specifications, improvement of manufacturing techniques; directing and controlling the activities of a research or technology development function; monitoring the program/project from initiation through delivery; and/or planning, development, and implementation of procedures for the testing and evaluation of electronic medical devices.

 

Your responsibilities include:

  • May be responsible for recruiting, coaching, and/or developing organizational talent.
  • May be responsible for providing direction and/or guidance to exempt specialists and/or supervisory staff who exercise significant latitude and independence in their assignments.  May supervise non-exempt employees.

  • Makes decisions regarding work processes or operational plans and schedules in order to achieve department objectives.
  • May be responsible for developing, monitoring and appropriately adjusting the annual budget for department(s).

 

Management Requirements

  • May lead a group or team of employees in the achievement of organizational goals.  Guide, coach, direct, and develop direct reports, and if applicable, drive those practices throughout their organization.
  • Foster a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.
  • May direct and control the activities and budget of one or more functional areas, divisions, product groups, projects/programs and/or operations.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. federal/country and regulatory requirements).

 

What we’re looking for:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years of implantable medical device design experience
  • People Management experience

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • M.S. in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with ASIC design
  • Experience with Class III active implantable medical device product development
  • Cross functional experience in working with Operations and Process Development
