About the role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Architect to define and implement an architectural vision to drive the technical direction of Boston Scientific's portfolio of Marketing Technologies. The successful candidate will partner with the leadership team to deliver Global Digital Marketing solutions, strategies, and support the technical stack through engagement with external partners and internal experts. Candidates must be results driven, customer focused, a technical expert, and skilled at building internal and external relationships.


Your Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for establishing technical standards, driving the technical direction, and owning the architectural approach for the entire Global Digital Marketing Tech Stack inclusive, but not limited to:
    • Adobe Experience Manager Content Management System 6.3 (Required)
    • Adobe Analytics/Google Analytics
    • Adobe Search and Promote
    • Adobe Digital Asset Manager
    • Adobe Mobile
    • Adobe Scene 7
    • SFDC Marketing Cloud
    • SFDC Communities
    • SFDC Social Studio
  • Recommends technology solutions based on BSC Marketing business requirements.
  • Leads and coaches marketing to define clear and specific objectives enabling development of the technology blueprint and implementation plan. 
  • Leads the vetting and selection process for choosing high quality (yet cost efficient) 3rd party vendors for all marketing technology projects.
  • Defines technical best practices for the Adobe Software Suite and governance procedures
  • Defines and promotes data architecture standards for the collection of web analytics data to sustainably meet the needs of Marketing Demonstrates technical leadership, willingness to investigate and lead others through technical discussions; displays marketing and business acumen with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical teams and leadership
  • Creates architecture deliverables for Global Digital Marketing initiatives and receives solution alignment from the Domain Architect Forum
  • Displays awareness and proactiveness in addressing code and platform issues across the marketing technology ecosphere and advocates to ensure the long-term success of the platforms
  • Proactively partners with BSC Marketing to define BSC’s future global marketing technology vision and strategy.
  • Strong understanding of analytics, reporting, and attribution (i.e. Tag Manager)
  • Knowledge of the Java ecosystem and hands-on skills like JavaScript, web frameworks like Angular.js, front end web development HTML5/CSS, server side templates and JavaScript libraries such as jQuery, ext js
  • Experience building and deploying web, email, and social media campaigns
  • Experience in on-demand infrastructure, such as Amazon Web Services and Adobe Managed Services
  • Broad understanding about modern marketing tools, digital best practices, and agile marketing
  • Develop and maintain a strong relationship with Global Digital Marketing Business Parters, IT partners, and software vendors
  • Ensure deliverables meet or exceed service-level expectations for quality, timeliness, performance and budget
  • Work collaboratively, effectively, and efficiently with stakeholders to ensure alignment and prioritization of goals and resources across multiple stakeholders, project priorities, and organizational initiatives
  • Form strategic partnership with Global Digital Marketing, SFDC CoE and BPMO to align marketing technologies with SFDC initiatives and integrations


Basic Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related field required
  • 5+ years of experience required in Technical Lead role
  • 10+ years of experience required administering, configuring, and solutions delivery of marketing technology capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives and people toward common goals.  
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, self-directed, action-oriented environment
  • Experience working in a matrix environment and delivering projects and services via a combination of internal, contract, and outsourced resources
  • Proven understanding of software development and operations methodologies
  • Ability to travel a small percentage of time as needed
