Reporting to the site Maintenance Engineer the role of Maintenance Technician is to provide electrical and mechanical maintenance support to ensuring that equipment asset performance is maximised. A high maintenance standard is a must as is adherence to quality standards and safety.


Key Responsibilities:

  • On time and right first-time execution of scheduled preventative maintenance activities.
  • Prioritise, fault find and remediate equipment breakdowns in a timely manner
  • Record quality maintenance history in the site Corporate Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Effective communication with production teams and maintenance engineer to ensure;
    • priorities are aligned
    • equipment health and status of any ongoing remediation activities are understood.
    • Timely escalation of issues (to OEM or Engineering team) where appropriate
  • Support the spares management process through timely transaction of materials on the CMMS and ordering of materials.
  • Support and lead site continuous and reliability improvement efforts. Including but not limited to;
  • Review of preventative maintenance procedures and delivery of improvement in quality and effectiveness
  • Root Cause Analysis of repeat or significant failures with a view to preventing or mitigating
  • Support the site Maintenance Engineer in the Continuous Improvement of the maintenance execution processes
  • Participate and implement the 5s program within the production and technical Services areas.
  • Ensure compliance to all aspects of the Company’s Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in compliance with local and global procures and in accordance with GMP requirements.
  • Stay current with technology & training; be recognised as the SME for technology within own scope


Experience & Educational Requirements:



  • Strong electrical and electronic repair and diagnostic skills
  • Experience in pneumatic fault finding and repair
  • Experience with high speed manufacturing equipment
  • Experience with maintenance of Vision systems
  • Have programming knowledge for Logic Controllers, Drives, HMI
  • Demonstrate levels of theoretical knowledge with practical application.
  • Relevant working knowledge of an FDA regulated industry and GMP requirements. Experience working in a Cleanroom environment
  • Good computer skills.


  • Previous experience working with a CMMS preferably Pemac within a maintenance environment
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in an FDA maintenance environment.
  • Experience with Label printers and label placement equipment
  • Have experience with Factory Talk Production centre (Rockwell)/SCADA
  • Some Programming Experience
  • A 3rd Level Qualification in automation systems or Mechatronics
