Role purpose:

The R&D department is looking for a R&D engineer with experience in the development of bioprosthetic valves. The engineer will be responsible for exploratory researches, feasibility studies, development and testing of prototypes.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and design products/components, such as valves, in accordance with international standards and internal procedures.
  • Participate and/or support external in-vitro and in-vivo product evaluations / tests.
  • Document and prepare reports and presentations to communicate technical assessments and analysis results.
  • Invent, create and improve concepts and designs for new products/processes, and submit invention disclosures.
  • Work independently to plan and schedule activities necessary to meet timelines.

 

Your profile:

  • 3 years of relevant work experience preferably in a Medical Device or Pharmaceutical environment.
  • Degree (MSc or higher) in biological, life science, chemical, material science engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience with bioprosthetic valve design, biological tissue.
  • Knowledge in tissue engineering (ideally, experience with pericardium).
  • 3D CAD software (e.g. Solidworks).
  • Ability to run in-vitro bench tests.
  • Prepare reports and presentation to communicate technical assessments and analysis results.
  • Fluent in French and in English, Portuguese is an asset.
  • Flexible and able to work in a high pace environment.
  • Self-starter, results oriented and ability to multi-task.
  • Teamwork spirit, excellent coordination and communication skills.
