Location: This position can be based in any Boston Scientific EMEA hubs (Paris, London, Madrid, Milan, Dusseldorf, Kerkrade, Warsaw)

 

 

Purpose

To drive the achievement of business growth through focused market/competitive analysis and the provision of a long term strategic marketing plan in coordination with the country Management and US division / franchise counterparts.  This position is responsible for the elaboration, and the execution of the franchise Plan and budget as well as the implementation of Marketing excellence standards within his/her group.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Marketing Strategy Formulation: Prioritize new business opportunities that impact franchise plans, profit and margin objectives; Direct and approve franchise market development & strategic / tactical  plans; Set the direction for clinical strategy and define appropriate tracking tools; Set directions for Budget planning and define appropriate tracking tools for the franchise; Accountable for ensuring department plans are consistent with division’s strategic plans/objectives; Establish strong relationship with divisional counterparts to contribute to new product portfolio definition; Set directions for communication & event strategy and define appropriate tracking tools; Establish a working understanding of other division’s market development plans and tactics.
  • Marketing Strategy Implementation: Implement strategic & tactical plans to achieve / overachieve core business and market development objectives; Execute appropriate elements of Franchise Marketing Plan; Execute new product launch plans according to marketing excellence standards; develop International franchise strategic plans to achieve divisional objectives; Review and agree country plans with country Management; Continuously monitors sales performance vs. plan by country and provides input on local sales strategies and execution; Active participant in business reviews; Coordinate operational strategies and programs with involvement from sales management.
  • Product Context: Ensure product development initiatives are consistent with International market needs; Direct and approve all necessary actions to drive market / product needs assessments; Manage product prioritization within franchises and provide input towards global divisional development prioritization.
  • Planning and management: Continuously reviews all aspects of group’s performance and provides analysis and recommendations to ensure plans and objectives are maximized; Develop and manage annual franchise expense budgets; Drive expense accountability/awareness to his/ her team; Interpret and utilize franchise P&L to drive business decisions; Develop annual franchise revenue plan and collaborate on franchise/divisional operating plan.
  • Stakeholder management and Networking: Establish and maintain relationships with key International opinion leaders in field; Develop ongoing communication and relationships with key internal functional areas, Country Management, Training, US Marketing and other Boston Scientific divisions; Collaboratively work with R&D / Upstream Marketing on development and execution of product development programs; Prioritize and coordinate the franchise’s / division's executional involvement with cross-functional groups (sales management, sales reps, marketing communications, national accounts/corporate programs).
  • Motivate and lead others: Manage / monitor all Marketing activities with his / her team to achieve strategic and business objectives; Develop/coach his / her team members to match marketing excellence standards and ensure appropriate skill development; Ensure a working understanding of other franchise’s strategic plans and tactics – Promote best practice.
  • Quality: Ensure awareness and compliance with applicable standard operating procedures to meet, comply and champion all quality and regulatory commitments

 

 

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Completed BA/BS undergraduate degree; MBA degree will be valued
  • 3+ years’ experience in Cardiac Rhythm Management
  • 3+ years of marketing experience in an active medical device area. Prior experience in CRM / Rhythm Management preferred.
  • European/ global marketing experience will be valued
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong organizational management; work with and manage indirectly cross-cultural teams in a matrix environment
  • Fluent in English
