EMEA Commercial & Digital IT Product Ownership Senior Manager

Day in the Life of the EMEA Commercial IT Sr Manager Product Ownership:

You will begin your day by checking in with your team of Product Owners on the ongoing work. Your team comprises product owners who cover a wide range of technical capabilities and solutions that support the EMEA Commercial organization across the business divisions. You will work closely with the Product Managers’ team to understand new demand that needs to be allocated to your team, with the architects to understand the best solution directions, with the Data & AI team to unlock the value of the data and with the Development, Delivery, and Support team to ensure the execution and delivery of the work runs smoothly end to end.  Where necessary, you will prioritize, invest, and allocate resources, serving as an escalation point for the product owners in your team.

Your team will support investments to be approved by the Commercial Board, ensuring that metrics are in place to measure value creation and delivery for the EMEA business. You will ensure that an evaluation is conducted after a specified period to validate whether the value has been created. You provide senior leadership (regional and global) with clear updates on the progress achieved.

You will provide direction and act as a mentor for initiatives that require harmonization and consensus with the business, while maintaining a focus on business needs and ensuring that customer satisfaction is met. You will collaborate with Global Leaders on products and technologies within your scope to align priorities, address regional needs, and capitalize on opportunities to integrate global capabilities and features into our solution proposals. You will strengthen the partnership between Global and the region to ensure clear alignment and transparency on the initiatives.

You and your team will play a fundamental role in aligning the prioritization for the regional, cross-divisional initiatives in the AOP discussion regarding the products and technologies. You will proactively identify synergies between different business areas, ensuring efficient resource allocation to maximize business impact.

You also play a crucial role in risk identification and mitigation, proactively addressing challenges that could impact delivery timelines or solution quality. Through regular engagement with stakeholders, you ensure transparency, foster trust, and make data-driven decisions that align with overarching business objectives. Your ability to navigate complex business environments and adapt to shifting priorities is essential for maintaining momentum and delivering value.

As part of your role, you will focus on defining and measuring the Value/Proof of Value (metrics, adoption rates, etc.) of initiatives within your team. In collaboration with the Sr Manager of Development, Delivery, and Support, ensure continuous improvement in the product team’s productivity (how well we improve in delivering what we create), optimization (how the team becomes more cost-effective), and accountability (whether we meet our commitments).

A people leader is responsible for building a team that achieves high performance and supports the development of each individual member.  This role also involves fostering a culture of ongoing learning and innovation within your team, encouraging members to stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends. You will facilitate cross-functional collaboration, ensuring various perspectives are considered in problem-solving and decision-making. By promoting best practices and a growth mindset, you will help build a resilient, adaptable, and forward-thinking team.

You recognize each team member’s unique strengths and hidden potential. You will develop their skills, elevate the quality of their product deliverables, and establish a talent pipeline, providing opportunities for career growth. You are an inspiring leader who values meaningful innovation with compassionate principles.
