About the role:
The Principal Sales Training Specialist develops and delivers product, service, program, and sales training and education initiatives for Structural Heart Therapies Therapy Awareness field representatives. Monitors and evaluates employee product training needs to ensure the ongoing development of employees' ability to meet customer and product technology demands of the company.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Development and delivery of product training curricula, content, and education programs for Left Atrial Appendage Closure (LAAC) field personnel with special emphasis on WATCHMAN Therapy Awareness sales representatives.
  • Contributions commensurate with Principal level role, including depth of knowledge, leadership and creative problem solving, advanced planning and organization, and strategic decision making.
  • Monitors the training of field personnel by reviewing job requirements and other knowledge requirements as outlined in the training plan to ensure employees are properly trained in product, programs, processes, and procedures.
  • Identifies, sources, and implements internal and external resources to develop novel and creative continuing education opportunities for field personnel.
  • Implements measurements to improve trainee performance or enhance field personnel product knowledge and efficient communication skills in coordination with Management.
  • Coordinates field mentorships, skills assessments, training completion processes, training schedules, subject matter experts, and homework assignments.
  • Collaborates with cross-divisional training functions and implements global best practices.
  • Contributes to ad-hoc training requests in support of global product launches.
  • Attends professional conferences to build networks of contacts, advance technical knowledge, and ensure professional expertise is maintained.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least 5 years’ experience of sales and/or sales training work experience in medical device/healthcare industry.
  • WATCHMAN/LAAC product knowledge or experience.
  • Relevant cardiovascular device market development experience.
  • Must be have basic competency in Microsoft products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel,).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be a self-starter with a clear focus on curriculum development and delivery.
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities and requests coming from a variety of sources/users.
  • Must be able to execute on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines within a fast-paced environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Candidate based in Twin Cities, Minnesota area. If field based, must be able to travel to MN at least 35% of the time for training development and delivery sessions.
  • Experience in WATCHMAN Therapy Awareness or similar structural heart therapy adoption roles.
  • Experience or certification with adult education and/or adult learning principals (e.g. AIDA).
