About the role:

Boston Scientific is recruiting for a Senior Specialist, Marketing & Digital who will drive the omni-channel marketing strategy for the Boston Scientific Close the Gap health equity program. Close the Gap is an exciting Boston Scientific initiative focused on ensuring all patients receive optimal health care through partnership, education, and collaboration. The program aims to transform communities that have traditionally faced barriers accessing quality health care by eliminating healthcare disparities, increasing clinical trial recruitment, and improving quality of care.

The person in this position will support ongoing educational efforts through a multitude of channels which will ultimately further the program’s objective: ensuring people in need of medical treatment receive optimal care regardless of age, gender, race, ethnicity or primary language. This position will report into the Direct-to-Patient and Direct-to-Referrer COE with close coordination with the Close the Gap program director. This position will be located in Maple Grove, MN.


Your responsibilities include:

  • Develop integrated marketing and communications strategy
  • Lead multi-channel campaign planning/execution w/ clearly defined objectives, strategies, tactics, and measurement
  • Lead multi-channel content strategy and manage mktg budgets
  • Identify and manage agency partners for content creation, media planning, and buying
  • Develop lead generation and nurturing plans
  • Establish and assess marketing measurement plans
  • Benchmark and shareout competitive marketing and digital initiatives similar to Close the Gap
  • Manage physician societies and patient advocacy partnerships and public relations campaigns
  • Partner with functional leads to develop earned and owned content on an ongoing basis
  • Oversee the development of public relations programming and oversee budgets with agencies
  • Conduct media & msg training for company and program spokespeople
  • Advocate for innovative ways to tell compelling stories and experiences that drive measurable results and engagement across audiences
  • Provide ongoing strategic marketing counsel and serve as thought partner to senior executives, and business management partners across the cardiovascular businesses
  • Collaborate with Corporate Coms to share and leverage content for use on Boston Scientific external and internal channels
  • Direct social media strategy and content creation, promoting Close the Gap opportunities relevant for Corporate channel.


What we’re looking for:

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of marketing and communications experience within a corporate or agency environment.
  • Bachelor's Level Degree required.
  • Performs as a self-motivated, solutions-oriented professional who will recommend innovative approaches and take initiative in a fluid and fast-paced environment.
  • Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Deep knowledge of brand strategy, positioning, and messaging.
  • Adept at working in a team environment while also displaying independence, initiative and enterprise; ability to maintain high productivity while balancing competing priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be comfortable discussing race, ethnicity, and gender disparities.
  • Ability to travel domestically as needed in support of medical congresses, community events, and other meetings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare background experience.
  • MBA or other advanced degree.
  • Media planning and buying experience.
  • Experience with a breadth of digital technology platforms.
  • Experience in direct-to-patient and direct-to-referrer marketing planning and measurement.
  • Experience and/or passion for healthcare access work, volunteerism, equality, and healthcare advocacy.
