About This Role:

Develops manufacturing/test equipment and software used in the development and production of medical devices.  Leads controls efforts as a cross-functional team member to develop clear specifications, influence project direction, and design, plan and build complex manufacturing and test equipment.



Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Leads and influences cross functional project teams to develop clear specifications, evaluates feasibility of concepts, and provides formal estimates for electrical and software designs.
  • Prioritizes project work, communicate status, and tracks progress towards completion.  Ensures that completed projects meet customer expectations and timelines.
  • Identifies, anticipates and mitigates technical risks and scope changes encountered during highly visible and challenging projects.
  • Lead and coordinate technical projects that include designers, engineers and technicians in the design, debug and installation of equipment.
  • Develop electrical/software design based upon departments’ standard development tools and procedures.  This includes pneumatic devices, electro-mechanical devices, motion controllers, sensors, system controllers, human interfaces and safety devices.
  • Completes FDA/QSR software requirements by assisting in the creation of specifications and qualifications.
  • Provides training as required to ensure that the equipment can be operated effectively.
  • Provides leadership role on championing functional best practices and identifying new industry trends.
  • Influences and defines functional, departmental, divisional and cross site procedures through involvement with engineering initiatives.
  • Partner with external vendors to develop alignment with equipment designs and departmental/divisional standards.  



What We’re Looking For:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field required
  • 5+ years Controls Engineering Experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Passion for connecting technical solutions with operational excellence
  • Experience working with automated assembly and test equipment in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated success leading projects and implementing automated solutions to improve manufacturing efficiency in a regulated environment.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley suite of products (Logix5000, Studio 5000, Factory Talk View) with a PackML methodology desired. 
  • Experience with machine vision tools, robotic systems, IoT, or AI.
  • Strong team and technical leadership skills
