The Advance Team Lead will drive the global Magellan program’s strategy and implementation roadmap, overseeing planning, communication, coordination, and influence across regions to ensure alignment with both Magellan and regional objectives.

The focus of this role will be working closely with the business to identify major initiatives (“big rock” items) and key decision points. This includes driving early business mobilization efforts in areas such as data cleansing, application remediation, current state process mapping, and process standardization. Additionally, the role will be responsible for mobilizing business stakeholders and resources, as well as educating business teams on existing global templates.

  • Map stakeholders, establish networks and communities, and mobilize engagement and collaboration. Set clear expectations, create a sense of purpose, and share the vision at all levels.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to establish and refine the SME/Superuser model for early mobilization. Secure engagement of global process stewards/owners to drive decisions on key initiatives (“big rock” items), ensuring representation across regional and site requirements.
  • Drive site assessments, deep dives, and design workshops during the mobilization phase.
  • Manage the Advance Team budget for the Magellan program and influence indirect budgets, ensuring resource allocation and adherence to budget constraints.
  • Develop and track key performance metrics to measure the success of the Advance Phase in various deployments.
  • Assess the effectiveness of the Advance Magellan Team and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
  • Ensure responsibility, accountability, and ownership of actionable items, manage risks, solve problems, and drive timely decision-making or escalations as needed.
  • Lead all project management activities, including scopes, charters, roadmaps, and work plans.
  • Collaborate with the business to identify critical decision points for “big rock” items.
  • Plan and execute early business mobilization in areas such as data cleansing, application remediation, process mapping, and standardization.
  • Educate business teams on existing global templates.
  • Act as a change leader by simplifying communication and storytelling, with a focus on change management.
  • Communicate priorities, monitor progress, and escalate unresolved issues.
