About the role:

 

Boston Scientific is a multi-divisional global medical device manufacturer.  The Endoscopy division ($2.0B revenue) is a rapidly growing business within Boston Scientific with a robust product pipeline in a large ($3.6B) and complex market. The Product Manager is a key contributor to the Endoscopy business.   The position is responsible for executing specific projects and tactical plans that align with the strategic plans for the Infection Prevention franchise.  Primary focus areas are to develop and demonstrate functional capabilities, learn the commercial and customer-facing component of the business, and demonstrate leadership competencies in a team environment with a long-term career progression mindset.

 

Your responsibilities include:

 

  • Learn and contribute to the development and execution of the 5-year global strategic plans. Assist in building the case for product portfolio and new market opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development of annual plans that clearly outline franchise objectives, strategies, tactics and activities.  Execute specific projects and/or tactical plans to deliver profitable growth and maximize global market opportunities.
  • Facilitate communication between the field selling organization and operational functions to exceed customer expectations.
  • Proactively manage portfolio decisions to meet and exceed customer expectations, while aligning operational and gross margin requirements.
  • Strategically forecast and provide analytics for demand planning to help stay ahead of business trends and act swiftly and decisively to mitigate customer impact to backorder situations.
  • Create solutions, in conjunction with sustaining engineering and quality teams, to optimize product performance in the field.
  • Contribute immediately with the development and implementation of business analytics, utilizing market research and data monitoring resources.
  • Create a comprehensive list of metrics to evaluate product outcomes in the market and design tracking systems to monitor progress against metrics.
  • Collaborate with the internal global marketing network and provide marketing support to field sales, customers, and other strategic channels.
  • Learn the clinical environment influencing the business, including the clinical procedure, the key decision makers, and business barriers and motivations.
  • Establish and develop key internal and external relationships, including cross-functional teams, global marketing colleagues, other franchises, field selling organization, and key opinion leaders.
  • Learn the internal marketing and cross-functional systems and processes required to support a franchise.  Provide ongoing support of the field sales organization including education, resources and collateral.
  • Collaborate with key internal cross functional stakeholders to execute franchise initiatives.  Communicate regularly on key franchise issues.
  • Demonstrates command of clinical literature and knowledge.
  • Contribute to the identification and execution of a well-tailored self-development plan.

 

What we are looking for:

 

  • Undergraduate degree required
  • 1-3 years of successful related business experience
  • Medical industry kitting experience a plus
  • Experience with Kaizen / Six Sigma a plus
  • Candidates with background in medical devices preferred
  • Sales experience or product management experience a plus
  • Demonstrated record of success working in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as innovation, planning, and execution
  • Ability to travel 25% mostly domestic with potential international
