About the role:

The Corporate FP&A organization of Boston Scientific has a position for a self-motivated, detail oriented individual responsible for providing global reporting and analysis to the executive management team.  This is a highly visible position that reports into the Senior Finance Manager in Corporate FP&A. 

 

The Principal/Senior Analyst plays an important role in providing decision support to management in understanding and communicating the key drivers of Operating Expense spend by division/region.  This position interfaces with the Global Business Units to analyze trends within the business and communicate them on a monthly/quarterly basis. This position also serves as a key resource in the financial annual operating plan (AOP), strategic plan and forecasting processes, partnering with functional, divisional, and regional counterparts.  Additionally, this position supports reporting and analysis of the company’s consolidated financials to the CEO and CFO in preparation for divisional reviews and Board of Director meetings. 

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support of the monthly management close process, with a focus on total company OpEx analysis as well as Global Finance and Corporate Finance results analysis
  • Support the annual, strategic planning and forecasting processes: design models for P&L analysis, and balance sheet forecasting; develop sensitivity scenarios to changes in market and operational variables;
  • Support senior management through preparation of schedules for executive meetings, earnings release support, Board of Directors financial packages and other ad-hoc requests
  • Partner across the finance organization (divisional finance, regional finance, Treasury, Tax, Accounting, and others as necessary) to ensure timely, accurate and completeness of close, plan submissions;
  • Conduct peer benchmarking to evaluate company performance
  • Quickly and accurately respond to ad hoc queries from internal customers (including Sr./Executive Management)
  • Engage in continuous improvement activities to streamline core FP&A processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness as well as supporting overall company optimization initiatives

 

What we’re looking for:

Minimal qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics
  • 3-7+ years’ financial analysis, planning, and business support experience
  • Very strong financial analysis and financial modeling skills. Attention to detail a must.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment. Ability to multi-task.
  • Strong process and time management skills.
  • Experience working cross-functionally. General knowledge of other related disciplines, business unit function and cross-group dependencies/relationships.
  • Must be able to work well in a complex, highly-matrixed worldwide organization
  • Be proactive, a self-starter, results-oriented, and a team player.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Excel skills required.

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • An MBA or advanced degree
  • Hyperion, SAP and Essbase a plus.
