The Role

We currently seek a Senior Manager to lead our global currency risk hedging program, with $8 billion of derivatives outstanding and spanning across more than 30 currency markets, and support our capital markets activities, with a financing portfolio of more than $7 billion. The successful candidate will join a Treasury team with a strong and fast-paced culture of excellence, innovation and talent development.  We seek a results-driven and detail-oriented team player who is passionate about leveraging finance skills, technology and lean business concepts to drive process improvements and create value.  The successful candidate will bring a solid treasury risk management experience and demonstrated continuous improvement mindset with high quality results. 

Key responsibilities include:

Currency Risk Management:

  • Recommend hedging strategies to protect earnings and cash flow from currency risks
  • Lead financial risk management performance reviews with senior management
  • Monitor company activities and currency markets for opportunities to adjust hedge coverage
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (tax, accounting, legal and divisional finance) to ensure proper planning and execution of hedging strategies
  • Support the execution of hedge transactions with global banking partners
  • Provide business units with guidance on strategies to reduce currency risk
  • Use technology and lean business techniques to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of our risk management processes

Capital Markets:

  • Recommend alternative financing strategies based on the company’s capital structure goals
  • Manage compliance and refinancing activities related to the company’s debt arrangements.
  • Facilitate issuance of new public and private debt and equity financing transactions, as appropriate
  • Manage financial risks including analyzing exposures to interest rate, commodity and equity market risks, recommend and implement related risk mitigation strategies
  • Manage and execute share repurchases


  • Lead global cross-functional teams to implement change initiatives
  • Ensure a high standard of controls for the capital markets and currency risk management programs
  • Maintain effective relationships with internal customers and external banking and legal partners
  • Assure that appropriate resources (personnel, tools, etc.) are maintained in order to assure Quality System compliance and adherence to the BSC Quality Policy
  • Establish and promote a work environment that supports the Quality Policy and Quality System

What we’re looking for:

Minimal qualifications:  

  • Solid understanding of currency risk management strategies, derivative accounting requirements, capital market issuances, treasury systems, tax planning strategies, and policies and procedures for a global organization
  • BS degree in Finance or Accounting
  • At least 7 years of relevant Finance or Treasury experience in a global organization, including capital markets and currency risk management with supervisory and staff development responsibilities
  • Strong analytic, creativity, organization and project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Track record of leading global cross-functional teams to implement process and transformational change initiatives
  • Proven ability to leverage technology
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and treasury workstations. 

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or relevant Master’s degree highly preferred
  • MS Visio, SAP, Bloomberg or Hyperion a plus
  • Knowledge of lean business concepts and practical applications a plus
