The Position:

Boston Scientific Tax seeks an energetic, highly-motivated individual to develop and grow within the company’s multinational tax and finance organization. The Senior Analyst will prepare the company’s tax returns as well as provide support for tax planning, analysis and reporting.  This role is predominantly focused on US domestic and international tax reporting, including GILTI and FDII.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Prepare/Review US federal and state income tax and informational returns (prepared in a paperless environment using Corptax and Onesource Workflow Manager Software), including all calculations of book/tax differences.   Ensure all files are adequately supported in anticipation of Financial Statement audit, IRS audit and internal SOX review.
  • Prepare/ Review quarterly and annual ASC 740 calculations for the company’s domestic operations using Corptax, Onesource Tax Provision and Onesource Workflow Manager software.
  • Review accuracy of Federal and State Tax Depreciation calculations processed in SAP.  Participate in the preparation and review of data for State Apportionment.
  • Perform tax research regarding issues affecting the company.  Ensure all tax positions taken on the return are well documented and supported in memos for the files.
  • Some supervision of the work of tax analyst(s) in the Tax Reporting Group. Provide training to team members.  Set a good example for analyst(s) and peers – lead by example.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with others in the tax department and the broader finance organization to facilitate information gathering and increase one’s own understanding of business policies, corporate initiatives and their tax impact.
  • Assist the management team with the preparation/review of special projects related to corporate initiatives, legislative proposals, acquisition and/or divestiture modeling, and other ad hoc reporting requests as needed.
  • Contribute positively to business initiatives and the BSC environment of continuous improvement. Suggest and/or implement process improvements.   

 

What we’re looking for:

Minimal qualifications:

  • BS degree in Accounting required
  • 3-5 years of related work experience in public accounting and/or large corporate tax environment
  • Working knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proficient computer skills, specifically MS Excel and Word
  • Adaptable to changing business needs and organizational structure
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, technical, and communication (written and verbal) skill
  • Self-motivated, independent work style with enthusiasm for learning
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a deadline driven environment

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • CPA and/or MST a plus
  • Experience with Corptax, Onesource Tax Provision, Onesource Workflow Manager a plus
  • 1-2 years supervisory experience a plus
