About the role:

This position works independently to assist R&D engineers, scientists, and/or teams in the development and analysis of products, materials, processes, or equipment.

 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Contribute original concepts to the development of advanced prototypes and fixtures.
  • Apply engineering statistics software (i.e., Minitab, DOE) to characterize processes.
  • Create engineering drawings using CAD Software and create complete R&D engineering documentation following established procedures.  Write and/or verify specifications.
  • Analyze data, calculate statistics, and prepares complete product test reports.
  • Validate equipment and new processes.
  • Maintain complex test equipment, train staff on its operations, and schedule necessary calibration or preventative maintenance.
  • Actively participate in project team meetings.  Coordinate and monitor project task execution and project progress against deliverables.
  • Identify additional or new vendors to identify and acquire necessary supplies, materials, equipment and tools for specific projects.

 

What we’re looking for:

Basic Qualifications

  • Technical Degree (i.e., AA, Certificate) or equivalent and 8+ years in R&D technical support or related area
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong Hands on skills
  • Ability to set-up / conduct product testing and collect data
  • Support projects interacting with other technicians and engineers
  • Operate and maintain complex test equipment
  • Identify additional or new vendors to identify and acquire necessary supplies, materials, equipment and tools for specific projects

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to learn or have knowledge in Machining, Molding, Extrusion and Electronics/Soldering
  • SolidWorks
  • Contribute ideas into R&D for product design or issue resolutions
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects independently
  • Design control/Change Request process experience
  • Experience with data analysis / Minitab
  • Ability to design / create test methods
