Purpose

  • This position is the entry level to professional engineering work. This is a developmental position working under close supervision and receiving specific and detailed instructions as to required tasks and results expected. Area of work involves manufacturing processes with interaction between production and engineering groups in resolving problems encountered on the production floor. Will also assist in bringing new products to production.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of routine technical tasks that provides experience and familiarization with the engineering staff, team, methods, practices, products and programs of this division.
  • Supports more senior engineers with project tasks, with work including any of the following: writing and/or verifying specifications for raw materials & manufacturing supplies; troubleshooting and validating equipment and manufacturing processes; maintaining product / process documentation (MPI, drawings, BOMn++s & routers); developing / documenting product test processes and equipment; managing PM and calibration processes (cal and PM recall schedules); identifying and implementing process/product improvement alternatives; generating CRn++s.
  • Participates in Quality Circle activities.
  • Interfaces directly with assemblers, production supervisors, leads, and engineers in resolving production problems.
  • Ensures current procedures and BOMn++s are accurate and up to date.
  • Coordinates with the suppliers and external resources needed in developing and implementing process / product improvement plans

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, Biomedical, or Material Engineering.
  • 0-2 years manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Competency in CAD systems and GD&T.

 

Preferred Qualifcations

  • Comfortable with creating weekly yield reports in PowerPoint and presenting to the engineering and production teams.
  • General understanding of Quality Systems and regulations of a medical device company.
  • Ability to critical think and use engineering methods to determine root cause analysis of product defects.
  • Willingness to complete more hands on engineering work, including testing, working with fixturing and equipment, and communicating with product builders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
