About this role:

An Associate Project Manager is an entry-level program leader of a product or technology development project utilizing a cross-functional team.


 Your responsibilities will include:

  • People Management: Manages cross-functional development teams (with assistance); leads teams effectively; provides input to functional managers on team and team member performance.
  • Product/Technology Management: Manages the technical challenges of technology application and new product development; identifies, communicates, and manages low levels of technical risk.
  • Project/Program Management: Manages key initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing processes; develops (with assistance) and implements project plan; builds team ownership and commitment to project plan.
  • Process Management: Implements TDP/PDP; leads team to complete activities to current policies and practices; keeps documentation organized, creates Scaling Plan and Design History File for the project.
  • Communications and Reviews: Responsible for team and cross-functional communications; liaison between the team and the PIB; leads (with assistance) phase and business reviews, project meeting minutes, issues log, metrics, and other key communications.


What we are looking for in you

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, biology, chemistry, or other technical field with 5-7 years of related work experience OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Driving to meet project objectives for a functional area (e.g. operations, R&D, packaging, etc.)
  • Communicating effectively and efficiently in order to gain alignment and drive objectives.
  • Experience in leading a team
  • Experience presenting project updates to management/senior management
  • Familiarity with product development process
  • Organizational skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and strong verbal, written, and presentation skills 
  • Working with external vendors
  • Creating and maintaining project schedules, proficiency in Microsoft Project
  • Managing/overseeing project budgets and/or scopes of work

Preferred Qualifications

  • New product development experience, preferably medical device
  • PMP® Certification or a min of 35 hours of PMI certified coursework
