Purpose Statement

 

 

The R&D IT organization develops and delivers strategic R&D IT and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions for Boston Scientific. This is a highly dynamic position responsible for direct business partner engagement to understand business needs, identify and design enabling features and enhancements, and deliver technical solutions within the R&D IT application portfolio. 

Key Responsibilities

 

 

 
  • Enable key business and technology solutions within Windchill Product Team and broader R&D IT delivery teams through continuous improvement Windchill Product Team efforts, R&D IT project delivery, and ongoing maintenance activities
  • End-to-end responsibility for solution delivery and operations – requirements, design, construct, test, implement and support core business and technology functions
  • Interface with business customers to define and develop solutions meeting business requirements and IT architectural and development standards
  • Maintain ongoing collaborative working relationship with business partners, IT services (database, data center, servers, desktop, networking, security), and software vendors
  • Enable delivery efficiencies with CD/CI, DevOps, TDD, automation and other streamlining capabilities
  • Accountable for technical issue resolution, including diagnosis of problem, recommendations for workarounds, and defect correction
  • Accountable for end-to-end platform responsibilities, up to and including Operating System and application upgrades and patches, data management, code and data migrations, and backup/recovery
  • Accountable for technical issue resolution including diagnosis of problem, recommendations for workarounds, and defect correction
  • Stay current on new, relevant R&D and peripheral technologies
  • Create and maintain all required IT technical documentation

 

Required Qualification

 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years business process, system analysis or development/config experience
  • Strong functional and technical competency on PTC Windchill Application
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter with strong, proactive work ethic
  • Exceptional organizational & time management skillsManagement
 

Preferred Qualifications

 

 

 
  • Experience working with R&D Tools and Technology, including Cognition (Cockpit) technologies
  • Experience working in Med Device or other regulated industry
  • Experience working on an Agile Product Team
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle and methodologies
  • Experience in Windchill customization and Infrastructure
  • Experience working as Windchill Functional Analysist
  • Quick learner able to own and drive work autonomously with little supervision
