Purpose Statement



Boston Scientific is looking for an experienced, senior level Software Developer to develop, enhance, document, and support Enterprise Data Hub projects within a Business Intelligence Center of Excellence at the IS India Center.

Key Responsibilities




Key Responsibilities

  • Enhances, maintains and supports the development of existing EDH applications throughout the Software Development Lifecycle according to the IS methodology, department SOP’s, team guidelines, best practices and industry standards
  • Analyzes, designs and develops new application software and/or interfaces between applications
  • Creates and maintains system documentation according to the IS methodology (proposals, designs, test specifications, and other deliverables as necessary)
  • Participates in all phases of the software development project including: buy off the shelf versus build custom analysis, vendor selection, design, construct, implementation, testing, and post-implementation activities
  • Accountable for technical issue resolution including diagnosis of problem, recommendations for workarounds, and defect correction
  • Maintains collaborative working relationship with IS project teams, IS services (database, data center, servers, desktop, networking, security), and software vendors, as needed
  • Researches and applies new technologies, development techniques and best practices by leveraging experience, industry contacts, seminars, and books
  • Leverages software version control tools and provides software configuration management support
  • Works closely with the project team (internal and external) to assure a timely solution
  • Adheres to project plans, tasks, and deliverables; identifies dependencies and resource requirements
  • Appropriately communicates project status, escalates issues, and manages timelines and action items
  • Assists in implementing policies and procedures to facilitate efficient operations
  • Peer review other developers code for logic, best practices, and coding standards
  • Mentor and coach more junior resources


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 6+ years’ experience in Master Data Management
  • Previous experience as a leading member of a large team with assignments in all phases of the software life-cycle (requirements, design, construct, test, support) and have strong skills in documenting work
  • General knowledge of computer network components (servers, routers, printers) and data communication methods
  • Proven ability to quickly troubleshoot issues in Hadoop and Java using a sound and logical approach to deliver a valid solution
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people in other areas across the enterprise (geographical and functional) to accomplish desired outcomes
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle and methodologies
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvement opportunities
  • Ability to develop solutions to a variety of complex problems of diverse scope and complexity
  • Demonstrates a broad knowledge of a variety of alternatives and their impact on the business unit
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience documenting and developing w/in a regulated industry
  • Exceptional organizational & time management skills
  • Experience with Medical Device or Life Sciences beneficial
