Purpose Statement
Promotes company products through clinical education of current and potential customers, implants and patient clinic coverage within a defined region. Supports team to achieve projected sales goals and increase sales revenues.  Is eligible to train and coach other regional field clinical representatives in a lead capacity.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Selling: Integrates into the patient care continuum. Collaborates with the Territory Manager on business strategy and tactics at the physician level. May demonstrate mastery of all sales tools and prorams available.  May demonstrate a deep understanding of the competitions strengths and weaknesses. Able to participate in C level discussions and negotiations under the direction of the Territory Manager or Regional Business Manager. Attends and presents at industry and society meetings.
  • Business Acumen:  Through understanding  of the reimbursement and prior authorization process. Applies HE&R resources to increase sales team success. May be involved with contracts negotiations and pricing at the direction of the Territory Manager or Regional Business Manager. Makes sound judgement regarding nature of meetings, venues and expenses in accordance with T&E policy and submits appropropraite documentation for reimbursement. Stays current with  all internal training and complies with departmental administrative expectations. Protects company inventory, sensitive information and patient confidentiality. Reports patient/device issues immediately as per policy. Is resourceful in solving clinician and patient inquires. Includes Territory Manager and Regional Business Manager in the decision making process as appropriate.
  • People: Demonstrates leadership skills to organize and participate in regional or national trainings and meetings. Conducts oneself in a professional manner and in all interactions and maintains high standards of excellence. Integrates seamlessly with providers, clinicians, facilities and payers. Is sought out and recognized as a leader by colleagues, peers, clinicians and BSN Sr. Leadership. Manages a wide range of internal and external networks. Fosters collaboration and best practice sharing with peers at a national level. Actively listens to others with empathy and respect. Accepts feedback and seeks opportunities for personal and professional devleopment.  Builds rapport with clinicians, nurses, technicians and patients to influence sales and usage of BSN products. Develops key relationships through frequent and routine customer visits, product demonstrations, product in-services and procedural observations. Displays empathy and motivation in helping patients overcome obstacles and hardships.
  • Technical: Provides coverage for complex case throughout region and Area. Expert working knowledge of BSN products and applications. Responsible for monitoring and improving clinical efficiencies and outcomes for territory, region, and at a national level. Recognized resource by the field and corporate regarding input into upcoming products and software clinical needs and patient needs. Able to offer unique insights into advanced techniques. Recognized as a SME and able to support cases while training other field sales representatives. Maintains composure in complex clinical situations.  Knowledgeable on clinical papers and unique BSN production applications.

Independently determines and develops approach to solutions.  Interprets, executes and recommends modifications to company policies. Assists in establishing departmental policies and procedures. Establishes and cultivates a wide range of business relationships to facilitate completion of assignments. May interact with vendors. Participates in determining goals and objectives for projects. May lead projects within the function or department and/or represents a specialized field in larger project teams. Influences middle management on business solutions.

Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects.  Failure to obtain results or erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in serious program delays and considerable expenditure of resources.

Liaison 
Represents organization as a prime contact on contracts or projects. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations. Uses discretion, diplomacy and tact to resolve difficult situations. May escalate serious issues to manager.

Mentoring 
Participates in the development of less experienced staff by setting an example, providing guidance, and offering counsel.

What we are looking for in you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Biomedical Engineering, Respiratory Therapy, Certified Radiology Technician or similar. Master’s degree is considered a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to assist surgeons in the hospital room (OR) giving technical support as part of the healthcare team and handling instruments and/or medical devices during the medical procedure. Aseptic Technique Certification is considered a plus.
  • Proven sales experience in healthcare accounts management and/or distributors. Multi-country experience along Central America is desired.
  • At least 5 years of experience conducting a full-cycle medical devices sales (prospecting, scheduling and attending meetings, product demonstrations, clinical in services, closing and follow-up). Works with physicians, therapists and other clinicians to educate and increase therapies awareness on Boston Scientific products and other services offered.
  • Ability to manage high volume and high variety workloads in a deadline driven environment with a focus on quality of patients
  • Advanced English Language (at least B2 level) 
  • Availability to travel at least 50% of time
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a highly motivated team where flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, constantly changing work environment are paramount and urgency often dictates a dynamic work schedule. 
  • Office at user level, advanced Excel (pivot tables, macros desirable) 
  • Basic knowledge in Government Administrative processes.
  • Valid drivers license and own car required.
  • US Visa and valid passport required.
