About This Role: 

The Capital Equipment Electrical Technician III will perform a variety of routine and semi-routine tasks to ensure production quality standards are met.  Under general supervision, performs the setup of equipment, fixtures, components, cables, etc. for test.  Performs manual and semi-automated setups for AC and digital tests, recognizes failures and setup problems, and determines need for appropriate verification.  Operates programmable AC auto-tests, samplers, real-time oscilloscopes, pulse generators, meters, power supplies and special AC/DC test fixtures.  General instructions are given for routine work and detailed instructions are given for new lines of work or special assignments.

 

 

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Performs final assembly and test on all products.
  • Under general supervision, organizes, builds, tests, troubleshoots, repairs, designs, and modifies developmental and production electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems such as radiofrequency lesion generators.
  • Perform final assembly and testing for mid volume medical device electronic / mechanical systems
  • Independently operates and tests computer-controlled devices and perform detailed problem solving.
  • Supports Manufacturing Engineering and R&D with the testing of new products as required.
  • Use detailed troubleshooting skills at system assembly levels on all products.  Diagnose the problem, get to root cause and give feedback to ME’s.
  • Improves product reliability by working with ME’s and attending meetings as required.
  • Train Product Builders and Technicians I & II, and other internal and external customers as required.
  • Follows procedures from SFP (Shop Floor Paperwork) and has detailed knowledge of how MPI’s, TPI’s, drawings, etc. are used.
  • Collaborates with Manufacturing Engineering personnel to review process instructions and procedures to improve the processes.
  • Provides support for Capital Equipment Manufacturing, Repair Operations, Manufacturing Engineering and any other internal customer as required.
  • Performs and explains the testing of products during a tour, inspection or audit.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

What We’re Looking For In You:

Minimum Qualifications

  • AA Degree or equivalent work experience in related discipline and 3+ years of related experience
  • Proficiency with oscilloscope is required
  • Experience diagnosing problems using basic troubleshooting skills on wide variety of products per test specifications.
  • Understand and follow test processes and work instructions with application to general product knowledge and operation.
  • Potential for travel outside state up to 20% between now and June 2018

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experienced with manufacturing and/or repair of medical device capital equipment
  • Ability to interpret design sketches of complex and/or advanced electronic units
  • Setting up, calibrating, and modification of complex test apparatus and/or devising complex test equipment and circuitry
  • Knowledge of electronic layouts, components and circuitry assembly procedures
  • Prior demonstration and commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to Quality System requirements in a regulated medical device environment.
  • Broad knowledge of general technical concepts and practices in the field of electronics, including both hardware and software
