As part of this role:

The Project Specialist in the Materials – Systems team will be a developmental role responsible for driving improvement projects which support the Materials department and the site. These projects will range from Value Improvement Projects (VIPs) to Strategic Activity Review (StAR) projects.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Participates in the planning, execution and finalization of projects according to strict deadlines, within budget and by following organized and repeatable procedures.
  • Acquires resources and coordinates the efforts of team members and third party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan.
  • Acts as a liaison with project stakeholders and effectively communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Identifies and manages project dependencies and critical path items while ensuring project quality and utilizing and following appropriate methodologies.
  • Conducts project post mortems and communicates lessons learned in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Build content and processes to deliver new user and refresher training of the core business systems to site.
  • Drive processes to ensure data integrity and consistency across SAP, MES, and GLS.
  • Support a work environment of continuous improvement in line with BSC's Quality Polict, Quality System and appropriate regulations for the areas supported.
  • Participate or Drive the development, testing, change control and deployment of enhancements to SAP, MES, GLS, or other Materials related processes.
  • Develops goals and objectives while leading small teams in the implementation of projects supporting the production systems.
  • Trains and/or provides work direction to other personnel and may train manufacturing personnel when required.
  • Mentors employees by sharing technical expertise and providing feedback and guidance.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a Technical area or AA degree and equivelent work experience
  • 2 Plus years of previous Project Management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to Plan, organize, and prioritize own daily work routine to meet established deadlines

  • Ability to cultivates a wide range of internal business relationships.  May lead a project team of small to moderate scope

  • Past experience developing solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors.

  • Previous experience with Windchill, MES, SAP and GLS is desired
