We are seeking a proactive, consultative attorney who will partner with the business to enable achievement of business objectives in a compliant manner and in accordance with our company values.  This position will report directly to the head of Legal and Compliance for EMEA and provide legal and compliance advice and counsel for our French and Belgian offices and employees in a variety of areas, including: contracts, public procurement, employment, competition law, compliance, health care provider interactions and the MedTech Code, data privacy and other areas of law as needed.  Direct outside counsel with respect to representation of company in various matters, and meet regularly with country Senior Leadership teams.  Consult with HR and other in-house counsel and help develop employment and labor law strategies for businesses.




  • Advise the businesses and country leaders on day-to-day matters and provide straight-forward, practical, solution-oriented guidance;
  • Structure and negotiate commercial contracts, tenders, partnership arrangements and service agreements;
  • Partner with Global Compliance to drive Compliance Program within the geographies represented;
  • Collaborate with other members of Global Legal Department and participate in consistency and efficiency initiatives with the EMEA Legal & Compliance Department
  • Drive key projects across the business to ensure that business deals are commercially sound and legally compliant;
  • Develop efficient legal processes and templates that appropriately mitigate risk for innovative business and commercial deals models;
  • Raise business clients' knowledge and understanding of laws and regualtions including public procurement, anti-trust, GDPR and MedTech Code, through delivering trainings to business team members;
  • Consult with HR and outside counsel on employment matters in France and Belgium;
  • Possibility to act as SME on employment law matters and strategies throughout EMEA, depending on experience;
  • Possiblity to manager French legal team, depending on experience


Position Requirements


  • Qualified to practice law in France
  • Minimum 6 years legal experience
  • Must have direct experience advising Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology or Medical Device companies, this experience may have been acquired as in-house counsel or from law firm
  • Preferably have employment or labor law experience
  • Must be comfortable working directly with high-energy, innovative business clients
  • Must be able to operate and make decisions autonomously
  • Language:  Fluent in French and English
