Boston Scientific has been entering commercially the Deep Brain Stimulation Field (DBS) field since 2012 with cutting edge innovative technology for movement disorders patients.

Our environment is evolving fast and it requires us to adapt to our physicians needs … revisit the DBS Paradigm – from Planning to Programming DBS Patients.

 

In that context – we created the new EMEA – DBS Product Manager Position to drive the achievement of business growth through focused market/competitive analysis and the provision of a long term strategic marketing/clinical plan in coordination with the EMEA country Management and US division / franchise counterparts. This position is responsible for the elaboration, and the execution of the franchise Plan as well as the implementation of Marketing excellence standards within his/her group.

This is the intent with the newly created Solutions BDM position who will support the efforts to drive category leadership and differentiation for BSC.

In this role we expect the new EMEA – DBS Product Manager to:

  • aggregate data & voice of DBS customers and KOLs on the DBS workflow – from Planning to Programming ó building a new Planning & Programming DBS Paradigm
  • collaborate closely with our strategic partner Brainlab on product development, research & development, clinical research projects
  • collaborates closely with the BUDs and SMs and with the US Valencia team to define and build a robust and innovative commercial DBS workflow
  • develop a physician educational training on the new visualization workflow in collaboration with EMEA DBS Scientist, Global/EMEA GUIDE XT champions.
  • Embed Visualization in our customer/patient centric strategy
  • Partner with NMD – Solutions Manager

This EMEA role has accountability for detailed definition and overall implementation of the novel DBS Workflow – from Planning to Programming across the EMEA organization. It will require a strongly collaborative mind-set and openness to innovation and change.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Customer & Market insights

  • Gather current and target customer feedback and needs, including regular user meetings, 1:1 discussions, field interaction, clinical reviews, and traditional market research to understand customer requirements for products, services.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the needs and drivers of DBS customers (Neurosurgeons, Neurologists, Nurses, Economic Buyers) as well as key differences between the EU markets in context of program execution.
  • Develop, maintain, and grow relationships with key EMEA customers and KOLs.
  • Assess competitive intelligence, for review with the organization on a regular basis and use in evaluating future development direction in DBS.

 

Collaboration and Execution:

Build close collaboration with Brainlab, sales management, sales force, FCS, NTE, EMEA DBS Scientist & EMEA Mkt Dvpt,Country marketing teams and support functions to:

  • Support effective DBS Workflow launch programs, including launch strategy, positioning, messaging, segmentation, pricing, and communication strategies with sales
  • Support the training to the Sales, FCS & Marketing teams on the developed DBS Workflow – in collaboration with EMEA Sales Trainer.
  • Gather learnings and define best practices for Global Development.
  • Complete established marketing Product Development Plan internal deliverables, evaluating potential projects with increasing levels of detail and specificity, to ensure effective workflow development and launch preparation.
  • Track and report on key program metrics, aligned with overall goals & objectives.  Ensure that business cases (ex: market models, market share, customer net promoter score) are accurately tracked for the program.

 

PROFILE REQUIREMENTS

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related fields. Advanced degree preferred
  • MS engineers or Neuroscience Preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in Marketing or equivalent
  • Outstanding project management skills and experience managing multiple tasks & partners (internal/external collaborators)
  • Understanding of legal and regulatory environment in promotions, and ability to comply with industry guidelines, and other compliance-related issues
  • Experience developing multi-channel campaigns and programs through all stages from concept to implementation and execution
  • Ability to travel in EMEA approximately 50% of the time
  • Ideally also experienced in
    • Medical or pharmaceutical marketing, or other regulated field
    • Disease state education, and clinical support programs
    • Strong patient focus, clinical acumen, and knowledge of engagement along the continuum of care
    • EU or EMEA experience

  • Good organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines in an environment of competing priorities. Ability to routinely work on multiple tasks with multiple people while prioritizing.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with customers, clinical & sales partners.
  • High-level strategic thinking with the ability to concisely translate complex topics to the appropriate level for target audience
  • Proven ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally to drive business results in a heavily matrixed, fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership and ability to drive influence across stakeholders to set direction, align work efforts, and ensure outstanding execution
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
  • Fluent in English, another EMEA language is a plus
