About the role:  

The Senior Training and Development Specialist will be responsible for cultivating and supporting a compliant site learning culture and strategy.  This role will leverage communication and analytical skills to partner with site leadership to assess and bridge training needs. The Sr. Training specialist will also facilitate classroom trainings classroom trainings, workshops and other classroom-based activities. 

  

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Apply formal and informal needs assessment processes, including surveys, focus groups, etc. to identify key training needs and root causes. Assist management with analysis and interpretation of results and the development of strategies to address issues and opportunities. 
  • Deliver training and development programs and services including but not limited to the following tasks: Assist in the design and development of training programs.  
  • Create training materials, research and recommend training resources and best practices.  
  • Support talent/succession management and employee/leadership development activities. 
  • Assist in the evaluation and optimization of training systems and procedures. Identify and analyze training and development needs of the entire organization. Cultivate strong business partnerships and interact within the organization. 
  • Conduct formal and informal learning needs assessments. 
  • Identify/develop and evaluate learning solutions to address performance needs Measure and continually improve effectiveness of training and development initiatives.  
  • Leverage e-Learning and blended learning approaches.  
  • Ensure all training and tracking practices comply with the requirements of BSC Quality System and applicable local department practices. 
  • Conduct vendor assessments - review externally developed programs and facilitator capability to meet learning needs; negotiate 

 

Required qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering, applied sciences or related discipline 
  • 5+ years experience in a manufacturing/regulated environment 
  • 2+ years experience in developing and delivering professional training 
  • 2+ years experience working with a learning management system 

 

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Experience developing and delivering training 
  • General knowledge in instructional design and employee development  
  • Strong communication, organization, and planning skills 
  • Proficiency and experience working with Microsoft Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
