About the role:

The healthcare industry is changing rapidly with several market dynamics significantly impacting the patient care continuum. We are seeking a Data & Analytics Leader to help define and execute the data, analytics, and AI strategies within our MedSurg business units.  You will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive tools and strategies that allow raw data to be transformed into business insights across a variety of functions and data consumersYou will collaborate with multiple teams across the organization as you work to deliver solutions that can leverage broader enterprise level efforts in this area but benefit the identified needs within the business units you support.  As demands around generative AI continue to grow, you will also be expected to help support the development of tools and models that allow Boston Scientific to accelerate its learnings and productivity through new capabilities in this area.  The right person for the job will apply their exhaustive knowledge of data analysis to solving real-world problems faced by our company and finding opportunities for improvement across multiple projects, teams and business units.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Develop, manage, and support an enablement framework for data & analytics solutions & capabilities for the Endoscopy and Urology business units that leverage enterprise solutions and strategy but account for unique needs specific to the requirements within the business units.
  • Own the technical strategy associated to accelerating data & analytics capabilities within the business units you support while being connected and informing the broader enterprise level roadmap and resources.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to resources supporting the technical activities within the domain but also act as a subject matter expert in partnering with business stakeholders to progress their position on the analytics maturity curve.
  • Lead cross-functional projects using advanced data modeling and analysis techniques to discover insights that will guide strategic decisions and uncover optimization opportunities.
  • Organize and drive successful completion of data insight initiatives through effective management of analyst and data employees and effective collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with leaders across multiple functions to support and implement high-quality, data-driven decisions.
  • Manage and optimize processes for data intake, validation, mining, and engineering as well as modeling, visualization, and communication deliverables.
  • Build, develop, and maintain data models, reporting systems, data automation systems, dashboards and performance metrics support that support key business decisions.
  • Design and build technical processes to address business issues.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistent reporting by designing and creating optimal processes and procedures for employees to follow.
  • Use advanced data modeling, predictive modeling, and analytical techniques to interpret key findings from company data and leverage these insights into initiatives that will support business outcomes.
  • Manage product team budgets, provide related vendor management, and oversight, and lead required contract and sourcing negotiations.
  • Responsible for leading the delivery activities associated with the product backlog, engineering, testing, documentation, and problem resolution.
  • Examine, interpret and report results of analytical initiatives to stakeholders in leadership, technology, sales, marketing, and product teams.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and other stakeholders to establish a value-driven and outcome-based culture as a core input to the product roadmap.
  • Lead team meetings, Scrum ceremonies, and business stakeholder interactions
  • Maintain and continuously upgrade her/his domain knowledge, technologies, external competitive landscape, product interconnectivity and system integrations, and business challenges/objectives; capable of learning rapidly to fill any knowledge gaps.
  • In all actions, demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the quality processes and procedures that exist.

 

What we're looking for:

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Data Management, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 8 years of work experience, including 5+ years focused on data & analytics.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, Java, or Scala. Experience with libraries and frameworks specific to AI and data analysis, like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, Pandas, and Scikit-learn.
  • Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, deep learning architectures, and their practical applications.
  • Experience in handling large datasets, including data cleaning, data transformation, and data storage. Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases, data warehousing solutions, and big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools and techniques (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, Matplotlib, Seaborn) to effectively present data insights.
  • Working knowledge of data mining principles: predictive analytics, mapping, collecting data from multiple data systems on premises and cloud-based data sources.
  • Understanding of and experience using analytical concepts and statistical techniques: hypothesis development, designing tests/experiments, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and developing actionable recommendations for business units.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex data insights and technical details to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to collaborate effectively with various teams and departments.
  • Knowledge of agile development practices and the ability to implement methodology changes where appropriate to accommodate business or team objectives.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience collaborating in a highly matrixed environment (Operations, Sales, Marketing, Quality, and IT) to implement technology solutions that support our strategic business objectives.
  • Proven adaptability, comfortable with change and with a demonstrated ability to react and respond to a fast-changing environment.
  • Experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure cloud platforms and tools.
  • Understanding of the specific healthcare industry domain where the skills are being applied.
  • Executive presence; comfortable presenting and collaborating with Senior Leaders
  • Ability to successfully manage and execute multiple concurrent projects using established project management tools and processes
  • Understanding of the full breadth of needs for a solution to be brought to market (infrastructure, QA, UA, security, etc.).
  • Able to work on a team in person and in a collaborative virtual setting; self-motivated, self-directed, adaptable.
