This fixed term-contract role (18-24 months) can be located in any Boston Scientific (BSC) hub location in EMEA (London, Voisins le Bretonneux-Paris, Milan, Madrid, Warsaw, Dusseldorf or Kerkrade).
 

About this role:


Magellan is a global business transformation program accompanying a move of our ERP system from SAP ECC to S4 HANA. Magellan’s goal is to simplify, standardize and modernize our core business processes, enabling BSC to better leverage the power of data and to position our business for profitable and sustainable growth.
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Data and Test Lead with expertise in Formal Testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Day-in-Life Testing and experience working with complex business systems, particularly SAP (preferably S4/Hana) as well as integrated applications across functional processes. This role requires a strong technical understanding, analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. This position will involve interaction with the Global Master Data Team.


Your key responsibilities will be:
 

Overall

  • Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and development teams to prioritize testing activities and allocate resources effectively.
  • Provides updates to senior management and all stakeholders, of progress through frequent communications of findings at regular intervals via reports and meetings. 
  • Elevate issues and clear barriers to team progress. Quickly resolve conflicts and involve functional and program management as required.
  • May lead a group or team of employees in the achievement of organizational goals – guide, coach, direct as applicable.
  • Foster a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. federal/country and regulatory requirements). 
  • Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports BSC’s Quality Policy, Quality System, and the appropriate regulations for the area they support.  Ensure employees are trained to do their work and their training is documented.

 

Test coordination

  • Responsible for planning and coordination of test activities during test phases.
  • Enable Test strategy and facilitate the Business involvement during each test phases of program, including defining testing scope, and establishing criteria for when and how to conduct testing.
  • Identify testers from business to participate in testing activities (tools training, Review and Approve SIT test scripts, develop UAT scripts, Execution)
  • Coordinate on site testing logistics for Formal, User Acceptance and Day-in-Life phases
  • Engage in test data coordination plan – map test data against scenarios.
  • Participate in defect management, drive lesson learned discussions, participate in testing exit gate review.
  • Coordinate and oversee different workstreams involved in testing, ensuring alignment with project timelines, test plan and objectives.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to other team members on testing best practices, data validation techniques, and test processes.
  • Monitor and track test progress, report on testing status, and escalate issues or risks to project stakeholders as needed.
  • Partner to enhance the Overall Testing Metrics and co-develop comprehensive measurement tools (KPI’s) to gauge progress in relation to data cleansing, data quality.
  • Facilitates collaboration between internal and external resources.
  • Coordinates cross-process and end-to-end site test case execution.
  • Serves as a point of contact for all arising issues & escalates issues to Program Leadership

 

Data coordination

  • Coordinating data-related activities, ensuring data cleansing, data accuracy and integrity. 
  • Review Data Quality rules as part of Data Governance and gather voice-of-customer to ensure the most appropriate and current business rules are observed and monitored.
  • Working within the Data Governance framework to ensure accurate and consistent data maintenance across BSC. 
  • Using metrics and analysis to hold Data Stewards accountable for their Data Quality
  • Participate in meetings with, influence and guide Data Steward SMEs on best practice.
  • Gather voice-of-customer raised by the business in terms of user experience issues, as well as related expectations after issue resolution.
  • Investigate reasons for potential data issues and related alternative solutions.
  • Analyse, synthesize and communicate data and issues into business language, meaningful and insightful messaging, and plans.
  • Responsible for coordinating and helping business teams understand to-be data design and data conversion rules during design and build.
  • Responsible for coordinating and driving business data validations during data mock cycles and production cutover.
  • Responsible for coordinating business manual data gathering and data enrichment activities throughout the project.


Who are we looking for:
 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience coordinating data-related activities and conducting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) in a complex business environment.
  • Strong proficiency in SAP, particularly S4/Hana, with a deep understanding of SAP data structures, modules, and integration points.
  • Thorough understanding of SAP Data - Material Master, BOMs, Routings, Batch, Serial, etc.
  • Experience with SAP S/4 HANA data migration tools and strong data analysis skill is required.
  • Experience with ETL processes, data migration, data validation, and data quality management.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and troubleshoot data issues effectively.
  • Solid understanding of testing methodologies, test planning, test case development, and defect tracking.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience with testing and validation tools such as HP ALM, qTest, Jira, or similar tools is preferred.
  • Proven ability to coach, mentor and lead others in project and program management arena
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work independently, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work in a cross cultural and diverse environment.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required (up to 30%). 
  • Must be eligible to work in Europe.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB) or SAP certification is a plus.
