About the role of Senior Accountant- Inventory

The candidate is a subject matter expert for inventory accounting and analyses within the EMEA (Europe, South Africa and Middel East) region. The job is a mix of approximately 40% accounting and 60% analyses for Kerkrade warehouse, South Africa and Middle East regional warehouses, consignment inventory and third party stored inventory. You are the point of contact for all things inventory, and you drive behavior and influence stakeholders across the region. You operate within a multi-cultural, diverse and inclusive driven team. It is expected that you pro-actively identify ways to improve and streamline processes and are leading the implementation of process improvements and standardizations. The candidate performs a variety of complex duties related to balance sheet and profit and loss chart of accounts.

 

 Your key responsibilities will include

  • Be a solid business partner and subject matter expert, with other finance teams, supply chain management, divisional financial planning & analyses, business controls and multi region GBS teams.
  • Own EMEA inventory accounting (processes), analysis and reporting, including external and BSC global warehouse, and consignment inventory.
  • Own and safeguard key SOX controls related to inventory and cost of goods sold accounting. This includes, amongst but not limited to, full inventory reserves and inventory verification processes.
  • Execute month/quarter/year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate close and financial reports preparation.
  • Identify and implement process improvement and standardization.
  • Apply LEAN methodologies to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of financial processes.
  • Determined focus on analyzing (balance sheet and profit and loss) accounts, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and performing the monthly financial close and consolidation, external and internal reporting, monitoring SOX/internal control requirements, support audits, and maintaining & performing software interfaces with SAP.
  • Drive compliance in all finance-related matters and ensure compliance with Corporate and local policies, statutory requirements and GAAP principles.
  • Support internal and external audits and audit-related accounting matters (SOX, Global Internal Audit).
  • Participate in implementing quality requirements in all aspects of the financial process.
  • Ensure all activities comply with legal demands, ethical standards and the Internal Quality Management System

 

 

 Who are we looking for:

  • Bachelor Financial accounting or Business Economics
  • 5+ years relevant experience
  • SAP experience, additional automation capabilities are a plus
  • Fluent in English, additional language capabilities are a plus
  • DE&I minded individual
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills and focus on building relationships 
  • Self-motivated yet team player and takes ownership in all responsibilities
  • Change agent that focuses on a high level of quality 
  • Continuous Improvement and analytical mindset
  • Role to be filled at Senior Accountant level with demonstrable experience and skillset
