About the Role

An exciting opportunity to join the growing Research and Development team in Boston Scientific’s Interventional Heart Failure group.  In this role, you’ll work on a wide variety of challenging and rewarding new product development activities focused on bringing new and impactful therapies to patients around the globe.  The position will focus primarily on test method development for critical product performance measures on a new and exciting product platform.  We are looking for a motivated and driven individual with sound technical fundamentals who can drive execution in a very diverse and fast-paced environment.  Come join this exciting and growing team!

 

Responsibilities

  • Test method developer for components, sub, or finished medical device assemblies.
  • Creates new methods to evaluate critical areas of product performance.
  • Guides the design of unique equipment or fixturing/tooling to support method development.
  • Contributes to or leads test protocols, data generation, analysis, and team review.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to ensure requirements are unambiguous and measurable.
  • Authors technical reports that communicate results and share knowledge across the business unit.
  • Contributes ideas to or generates intellectual property submissions.
  • Significant amount of hands-on, in-lab product development and testing.

 

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, or similar.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals and sound technical judgment.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an engineering field/industry.
  • Experience developing product level test methods and equipment/fixturing.
  • Good understanding of statistical analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute and follow through on project responsibilities.
  • Work well and thrive within a team environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Highly motivated individual that can drive deliverables through creative problem solving and collaboration among team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to ideate, prototype, and implement creative test method solutions.
  • History of experimental design and execution.
  • Experience developing new complex product evaluation methods where current solutions are insufficient.
  • Basic understanding of medical device design control / quality systems and the product development process (PLCP).
