Please note this is a 6-8 month internship opportunity beginning in June 2024.

About the role

The Systems Engineering intern works in collaboration with the R&D Engineering team to design cutting-edge medical devices through testing and create various technical documents.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Researches, develops, designs, and evaluates electrical and electro-mechanical material, components, assemblies, processes and/or equipment.
  • Conducts feasibility studies to verify capability and functionality.
  • Develops new concepts from initial design to market release.
  • Directs support personnel and coordinates project activities.
  • Maintains detailed documentation throughout all phases of research and development.
  • Continuously improve processes and work methodologies (using agile/lean principles to eliminate waste) to help solve complex problems.
  • Contribute to software/system risk assessment activities, Use Design FMEA’s activities.

 

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or biomedical engineering
  • 0 - 1 years of experience with product development activities in a regulated industry.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in a team environment.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong documentation skills.

 

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with power circuit design / power semiconductors and magnetic components.
  • Experience with analog circuit design.
  • Experience with low-speed digital circuit design.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work with a team efficiently and independently.
