Purpose Statement

In Rhythm Management we offer solutions for treating irregular heart rhythms and heart failure and protecting against sudden cardiac arrest. Boston Scientific develops, manufactures, and markets a broad array of products and services that enable less-invasive care for some of the most threatening cardiac conditions. We have been expanding indications and conducting pivotal research for nearly 20 years, resulting in increased access to the lifesaving and life-enhancing benefits of ICD and CRT therapies.

This role promotes commercially approved company products as part of a team through education of current and potential customers, implant, and patient clinic coverage within a defined region by providing clinical education and sales support to assist in achieving projected sales goals and increasing sales revenues within product segments.

What we are looking for in you:

Career: Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Biomedical Engineering, Respiratory Therapy, Certified Radiology Technician or similar.

Experience: 0-2 years of experience in Cardiac Rhythm Management or Electrophysiology.

Must have:

  • Demonstrated ability to assist surgeons in the hospital room (OR) giving technical support as part of the healthcare team and handling instruments and/or medical devices during the medical procedure.
  • Availability to attend on-call procedures, surgeries, and/or needs from time to time. Willing to work with flexible shifts.
  • Ability to manage high volume and high variety workloads in a deadline-driven environment with a focus on quality of patients.
  • Proficiency of English language B1/ B2 level
  • Availability to travel at least 50% of the time.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a highly motivated team where flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, constantly changing work environment are paramount and urgency often dictates a dynamic work schedule. 
  • Valid driver's license and own car required.

 

A Plus:

  • Basic knowledge of Rhythm Management is considered a plus.
  • A US Visa and valid passport are considered a plus.
  • Aseptic Technique Certification is considered a plus.
  • Master’s degree is considered a plus.

 

Activities and Skills Required for this Role:

  • Serving as the primary resource for sales and clinical support in the areas of basic troubleshooting, programming, and patient follow-up for rhythm management products in a clinical setting. 
  • Educating customers on the merits and proper clinical usage of company products by giving presentations and demonstrations using a wide variety of formats and platforms (e.g., slides, transparencies, manuals) to keep all customers abreast of the latest product, therapy, technology developments and current items of interest in the industry. 
  • Participating in case reviews and clinical observation by working with physicians, hospital, and ambulatory surgery center staff.
  • Attending cases in the operating room of hospital and surgery center accounts and performing patient follow-up to assure customer and patient success with the implanted products. 
  • Utilizing company resources to identify potential patients and referral sources to educate them on rhythm management; this includes participating in creating community awareness events to drive patient volume.
  • Developing relationships with hospital and ambulatory surgery center personnel (e.g. through conversation, meetings, participation in conferences) to make new contacts in other departments within hospital and to identify key decision makers in order to facilitate future sales.   
  • Responding to customer and patient’s needs regarding products and services by developing creative and feasible solutions or working with other related personnel (e.g., sales, clinical research, marketing, technical support) to develop optimal solutions.
