Purpose Statement

The Business Development (BD) Manager that will be part of the ICTx PAT team, will play a key role in New Business Development and partnerships with the aim of expanding the ICTx portfolio for long term sustainable growth. Although the role will be APAC focus, opportunities will be explored at global level.  He/she will work with the ICTx Commercial managers and global ICTx marketing, to explore and evaluate opportunities. He/she will coordinate collaboration with existing business development teams within APAC as well as other functions, to assess new opportunities, conduct due diligence, evaluate and negotiate potential deal structures and terms. The person will need to be proficient with financial modeling and help manage ongoing relationships with partner companies.  This person will report to the Commercial Director of ICTx.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain deep understanding of medical devices and understand the area of ICTx (Coronary Therapies and Structural Heart) franchises
  • In partnership with ICTx commercial managers
    • Participate in necessary KOL engagement and VOCs to explore opportunities
    • Examine adjacency opportunities to BSC ICTx core businesses
    • Articulate and evaluate strategic fit of an opportunity to our portfolio
  • Act as entry point and contact for external entities approaching BSC for partnership
  • Conduct and/or support deal analysis to include
    • target recommendations and strategic rationale,
    • financial case, deal structure, deal valuation,
    • integration planning
  • In partnership with the APAC Business Development and Strategy team
    • Seek, initiate, manage, and analyze partnerships
    • Negotiate licenses, distribution agreements and acquisitions
    • Identify and coordinate internal resources required for Business Development activities, including due diligence
    • Interface with R&D, Marketing, Clinical, and Legal teams in executing transactions (from diligence to contract negotiations)
    • Partner with Corp Finance and Tax teams on financial modeling of specific transactions

 

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or MBAs from any related fields of studies
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in product management and marketing roles with experience in launching products at different phases, in the medical devices industry space
  • Proven track record of Product Marketing with strategic planning & execution with strong KOL and stakeholder management in medical industry is essential to succeed in this role
  • Experience with upstream marketing initiative that involved collaboration with &D and Business development groups
  • Familiarity in the clinical science or medical affairs verticals will be an added advantage
  • Ability and strong track record to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment with good multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to understand different region needs rather than having experience in one single region
  • Ability to interact with stakeholders across different functions and levels of the organization

  • Possess strong prioritization, project management and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
