Industrial Engineer

 

 Purpose Statement

 

Responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing manufacturing and business process improvements that increase capacity, reduce lead-time, reduce the work-in-process, improve fill-rates, and improve process flow and efficiency.
Projects will incorporate lean manufacturing, theory of constraints, quick response manufacturing, Just-In-Time, Methods-Time Measurement, or a variety of other systems improvement philosophies.
The employee will be required to create strong relationships with team members internal and external to Boston Scientific to ensure project success.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Create layouts using capacity analysis for headcount, equipment, and space requirements. Present findings and layout recommendations to cross functional team members to gain alignment.
  • Ensure BSC interests are met when working with external vendors that perform work onsite.
  • Designs, implements, and maintains effective metrics to drive year over year improvements. 
  • Participates as a core member in cross-functional teams
  • Makes recommendations to engineering teams, which drive higher yielding, lower cost, lower cycle time, more manufacturable products.  May use financial analysis tool and recommend alternative courses of action.
  • Convinces internal customers to make fundamental changes to their manufacturing and/or business processes so that unbridled supply can be achieved, including right sizing inventories in warehouse and manufacturing line.
  • Develops and coordinates ergonomic projects.

 

Requirements

 

  • B.S Industrial Engineering degree required.
  • 3-4 years’ experience in manufacturing and operations industry
  •  High analytical skills and data-driven
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Science (scheduling/dispatching, Lean, capacity planning, etc.)
  • Proven experience in methods engineering & correction.
  • Excellent English – speaking, and writing.
  •  Experience in Operations & Methods
