About the role:
As a Supervisor of Facilities & Maintenance Operations at Boston Scientific, you will lead the daily execution of equipment maintenance, facility improvements, and staff development. Your work will ensure our manufacturing and operational environments run safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all internal and external quality standards. This role is vital to driving process improvements, optimizing resources, and enabling the success of production teams.

You’ll oversee a team of non-exempt employees and serve as the key liaison between facilities, engineering, operations, and vendors—ensuring timely project execution, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement. Your leadership will directly impact our ability to meet business goals while delivering on our mission to transform lives through innovative medical solutions.

 

Work model, sponsorship, relocation:
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a onsite work model requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. Relocation assistance is not available for this position at this time.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supervise day-to-day maintenance operations to support facility and production equipment uptime, reliability, and safety

• Manage staffing, workload prioritization, and resource allocation to meet department and company objectives

• Respond to equipment and facility-related issues, coordinating timely resolutions and preventive actions

• Lead cross-functional collaboration with engineers to support product and process improvements, new projects, and technology upgrades

• Develop direct reports through coaching, training, performance feedback, and progressive assignments

• Coordinate hiring processes with Human Resources, including resource justification and onboarding

• Oversee work order systems, project timelines, spare parts procurement, and vendor service coordination

• Implement and maintain policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and quality requirements (e.g., FDA, BSI, EEO)

• Create and manage work schedules, track attendance, and maintain accurate personnel records

• Support continuous improvement initiatives, monitor KPIs, and encourage idea generation from team members

• Foster a culture of safety, quality, and accountability across the team

• May perform individual contributor responsibilities as needed in support of departmental needs

 

Required qualifications:

• Minimum of 6 years' experience in facilities, maintenance, or manufacturing operations

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a supervisory or leadership role managing non-exempt or technician-level staff

• General understanding of manufacturing support systems, maintenance workflows, and compliance requirements

• Working knowledge of quality systems and regulations (FDA, ISO, OSHA)

• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments

• Ability to resolve standard operational problems and manage competing priorities

 

Preferred qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical field

• Experience in the medical device or regulated manufacturing industry

• Familiarity with CMMS or work order tracking systems

• Experience supporting cleanroom environments or validated equipment
