Supply Chain Manager I


About the role:

The Supply Chain Manager I is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the Buyer, Planner, Logistics and Inventory Control group.  Is responsible for all aspects of inventory control at the site, including but not limited to:  material capacity planning, production planning, inventory accuracy operations, inventory support operations, exception management, root cause analysis and reporting.  Trains, develops and oversees the activities of subordinate staff members based on organizational goals and company policy.  Responsible for production, inventory and capacity planning activities for the Production operation at the site.  Manages and performs routine and ad hoc analysis and develops internal tools to streamline analysis and reporting. 


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage all aspects of the monthly S&OP process for the site: Works with Franchise Global Supply Chain on the the desried build plan from Marketing; Manufacturing handshake; Presentation material development; Lead and facilitate monthly S&OP meetings on site.
  • Provide work direction and leadership to Franchise Global Supply Chain Demand Planners and Analysts from the site.
  • Review DC replenishment targets monthly and approve changes noting input elements resulting in change.
  • Diagnose service level failures, understand and develop corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Diagnose excesses to inventory objectives and develop plan to remediate.  Calculate and report on quarterly EE&O reserve requirements.
  • Develop and achieve annual inventory plan for assigned products in conjunction with Global Supply Chain.
  • Develop and implement finished good inventory reduction programs.
  • Monitor manufacturing and distribution channels to ensure on time delivery to customer.
  • Works closely with Franchise Global Supply Chain and align on Regional strategies including: Regional distribution requirements; Inventory safety stock strategies; Marketing and Regulatory requirements for product launches and product end of life.
  • Represent the site on supply chain on new product development teams adn work closely with Franchise Global Supply Chain on analyzing economics of inventory investment to determine the optimal inventory build given launch assumptions and risks; Define pre-launch inventory objectives by region as well as the regional launch sequencing; Communicate launch strategy to supply chain community.
  • Monitor supply chain performance (i.e. physical flow, allocation, master data, and intervene as required to ensure optimal performance).
  • Achieve Site and divisional Performance Metric goals/objectives.
  • Report on service level and inventory performance.
  • Identify changes in a products life cycle (i.e. new to mature, mature to discontinued) and adjust planning approach accordingly.
  • Manage and facilitate the Schedule Adherence process.
  • Actively contribute to VIP Process.


What we’re looking for in you:

Basic Qualifications

  • Degree in Materials Management or related field/equivalent work experience
  • 3-5+ years’ experience in managing a manufacturing planning / purchasing or inventory control function
  • Extremely strong PC skills utilizing such software programs as Excel, Access, Monarch, Word and Power Point
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to successfully interact at all levels of the organization
  • Self-motivated independent worker
  • Performs to a high level of accuracy in all tasks
  • Highly adaptable, flexible and willing to accept new ideas, processes, and procedures
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Experience working with SAP, Rapid Response, or other planning systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • APICS certification
  • Experience utilizing SAP or Legacy system
  • JIT experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Continuous education in a related field
  • Lean Manufacturing exposure or experience
