About the role:
Boston Scientific is seeking a skilled and collaborative technical writer to create and manage high-quality documentation that supports our mission to advance science for life. In this role, you will plan, develop, and lead cross-functional writing projects aligned with both business goals and compliance requirements. You’ll advocate for best-in-class content practices, drive innovation in technical communication, and ensure our documentation meets industry and internal standards for excellence.

Work model, sponsorship, relocation:
This position is on-site at our Johns Creek, GA facility. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. Relocation assistance is not available for this position at this time.

 

Your responsibilities will include:
● Plan, analyze, and create documentation using technical writing best practices, theories, and tools.
● Enforce Boston Scientific Quality System standards and adapt relevant industry writing standards to support compliance.
● Ensure document content is accurate, well-organized, and clear to support product safety and usability.
● Lead and coordinate cross-functional writing projects by setting timelines, deliverables, and aligning stakeholders.
● Recommend and implement process improvements for documentation workflows and tools.
● Establish and maintain relationships across documents and reference materials to ensure consistency and integrity.
● Explore and evaluate emerging technologies and writing methods to enhance documentation practices.
● Provide mentorship and direction to less experienced writers or supported teams as needed.

● In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance with the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.

 

Qualifications:

Required qualifications:
● Minimum of 3 years' experience in technical writing, content development, or a related discipline.
● Strong understanding of documentation standards, information architecture, and structured content.
● Experience working in a regulated environment and/or understanding of medical device quality systems.
● Proven ability to manage multiple writing projects and timelines with attention to detail.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
● Proficiency with technical authoring tools (e.g., Adobe FrameMaker, XML, DITA, MadCap Flare, etc.).

Preferred qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, English, Science, Engineering, or a related field.
● Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams or influence stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
● Familiarity with Agile development processes or medical device lifecycle documentation.
● Passion for improving content usability and implementing innovative writing solutions.

Maximum Salary: $96900 

 

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com—will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
