About the role
To bring design & drafting competencies into the product development cycle. These competencies are focused on the Engineering Documentation of the designs or processes. A large component focuses on robust design methodology in several stages of the development cycle. Viewed as an expert in one or more in-house tools and/or technologies.
Your responsibilities include:
- Drives complex or novel assignment requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures. Work is expected to result in the development of new or refined design tools, technologies, and processes to broaden BSC's Portfolio in key strategic areas.
- Assesses the feasibility and soundness of alternative engineering processes to solve complex problems, tools & methodologies, and makes recommendations to management.
- Represents the organization as the prime technical contact on projects. Interacts with senior technical external personnel on technical matters requiring coordination between organizations.
- Leads training and development of others; either cross-functionally or cross-divisionally.
- Demonstrates Product Lifecycle Process knowledge through coaching and delivery of high quality, high impact deliverables. Leads documentation & development of all design requirements of developed designs or processes.
- Involved in all design (fit & tolerance analysis)/print reviews to lead changes to the drawings, processes, and tolerances to maintain a robust, product design or process.
- Design & specification of test methods to measure developing design requirements.
- Understands internal & external print requirements (supplier quality, R&I, six sigma).
- Leads development of functional procedures including enhancements to R&D Product Lifecycle Process deliverables and departmental infrastructure.
In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or an Associate/Technical Degree with at least 7 years work experience in CAD Design
- People supervision
- Assures that appropriate resources (personnel, tools, etc.) are maintained in order to assure Quality System compliance and adherence to the BSC Quality Policy.
- Establishes and promotes a work environment that supports the Quality Policy and Quality System.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience with SolidWorks, Creo (ProEngineer), Inventor, or related software
- Injection molded plastic part design experience
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing acumen
- Tolerance Stack Analysis skills
- Desire English Level B2+ 80% or above
- Please submit Resume in English
- Knowledge, understanding, and mentoring of the Intellectual Property process is a plus
- Design & specification of test methods to measure developing design requirements is a plus.
