Your Opportunity:

As an IT Engineer Intern at Boston Scientific, you will: 

• Be placed on an IT team with a defined outcome to achieve during the 12-week program 

• Apply software engineering skills to real business challenges 

• Complete a group project with fellow IT Interns focused on solving a real problem for Boston Scientific employees (e.g., using Robotic Process Automation to reduce a manual process from 90 minutes to 30 minutes; improving and digitizing the critical incident process to reduce response time and enhance collaboration) 

• Participate in extracurricular opportunities and benefits that may include executive panels, team-building events, training, volunteering, flexible hours, employee resource groups, team sports on campus, gym access, and global partnerships within Boston Scientific 

• Be considered for a full-time position in the 2-year rotational program, designed to develop future IT leaders who use agile, lean-startup, user experience, and product-based practices to deliver digital solutions to business problems 

Your Impact:

Examples of meaningful work by IT Engineer Interns include: 

• Leveraging Artificial Intelligence to design and implement solutions that support innovation and improve outcomes across healthcare technology and business operations. 

• Developing automation solutions within the Robotic Process Automation team to streamline repetitive processes and improve efficiency 

• Contributing to data engineering efforts by designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines that support analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making, scalability research, architecture design, high-availability infrastructure planning, deployment and management automation, and feature discovery for open-source tools. 

Your Qualifications:  

• Interest and capability to learn new programming languages and development approaches 

• Ability to contribute to the resolution of technical challenges 

• Ability to articulate ideas and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing 

• Comfort sharing ideas and feedback respectfully, while remaining open to different perspectives 

• Willingness to take initiative and actively contribute value in a team environment 

• Demonstrated empathy and appreciation for the user’s perspective 

• Enjoyment of working in a multicultural environment where diverse backgrounds and experiences contribute to strong business solutions
