About the role:
Boston Scientific Information Technology is seeking a detail-oriented Business Systems Analyst to support global financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes within the IT Finance portfolio.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate, scalable, and automated planning solutions while maintaining system stability, governance, and compliance. The analyst will partner closely with FP&A, Corporate Finance, Accounting, IT, and external auditors to support Oracle EPM Planning (EPBCS), Oracle Enterprise Data Management, Data Integration, and related Cloud applications.
The ideal candidate brings strong functional FP&A knowledge, deep Oracle EPM Planning, and the ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Support and maintain Oracle EPM Planning (EPBCS) applications, including Workforce, Financials, Capital, and Custom Planning modules.
- Design, configure, and enhance forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning models.
- Develop and maintain business rules using Groovy scripting for advanced calculations, validations, and automation.
- Configure and manage Planning forms, dashboards, Smart View templates, and reporting artifacts.
- Partner with FP&A teams to support:
- Forecast cycles (monthly/quarterly)
- Annual Operating Plan (AOP)
- Scenario modeling and driver-based planning
- Design and troubleshoot data integrations and pipelines between:
- Oracle EPM applications (FCCS, EPCM, Planning)
- External systems and data sources using:
- Oracle Data Management
- EPM Automate
- Integration pipelines
- Support metadata management, hierarchy changes, and dimension governance using Enterprise Data Management (EDM).
- Lead requirements gathering, solution design, testing coordination, and deployment activities for Planning enhancements.
- Own and support automation-related activities, including:
- EPM Automate scripting
- Groovy-based process automation
- TOSCA for automated testing
- Support month-end and forecast cycle issue resolution under tight deadlines.
- Ensure all changes adhere to governance standards, SOX controls, and audit requirements.
- Provide audit support, system documentation, and evidence for internal and external SOX audits.
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, integrations, business rules, and controls.
- Collaborate with Finance, IT, and vendors to continuously improve forecast accuracy, system performance, and user experience.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor or Licentiate degree in Computer Science or related
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle EPM Planning (EPBCS), or similar platforms such as OneStream, SAP BPC, or Anaplan, including implementation and production support.
- Strong functional understanding of:
- Budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes
- Driver-based planning and scenario modeling
- Variance analysis and management reporting
- Hands-on experience with:
- EPBCS Financials, Workforce, and Custom Planning modules
- Groovy scripting
- Python/Jython Scripts
- Planning business rules and calculation manager
- Data integrations and pipelines
- Oracle Data Management
- TOSCA or Automation Anywhere for automated testing and regression validation
- Experience customizing applications in Oracle EPBCS.
- Experience with automation tools such as EPM Automate.
- Strong skills in:
- Requirements gathering and process modeling
- Data reconciliation and validation
- Functional and technical solution design
- Solid understanding of governance, controls, and compliance, including SOX support.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work directly with FP&A leadership.
- Ability to operate effectively during high-pressure forecast cycles and across global time zones.
- English advanced
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience integrating Planning with FCCS and EPCM.
- Experience with Enterprise Data Management (EDM).
- Experience in performance tuning and application optimization in EPM Cloud.
- Prior experience in global, multi-currency planning environments.
- Experience supporting cross-functional IT Finance initiatives.
