About the role:

Boston Scientific Information Technology is seeking a detail-oriented Master Data Analyst to support enterprise master data governance, hierarchy management, and metadata integration across the IT Finance portfolio and enterprise systems landscape. 

This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate, governed, and compliant master data structures that support financial consolidation, planning, reporting, ERP, and downstream applications. The analyst will partner closely with Finance, IT, Data Governance, and external auditors to maintain strong metadata controls, automation, and data quality standards. 

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Enterprise Data Management technologies, strong governance knowledge, and hands-on experience designing scalable metadata solutions.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an Oracle Enterprise Data Management Cloud Service (EDMCS) specialist with hands-on experience in Oracle EDMCS and Data Management. 
  • Manage and maintain hierarchies to enable strong data governance, providing a centralized repository for master data and associated attributes. 
  • Design and maintain mappings that feed downstream applications, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and traceability. 
  • Create and manage views, viewpoints, node types, and node type converters. 
  • Register and manage applications within EDMCS, including Oracle EPM (EPBCS, FCCS), ERP systems, and on-premises applications. 
  • Implement and manage EDMCS security, including user provisioning, roles, access controls, and approval workflows. 
  • Perform migration of EDMCS artifacts across environments (Development, Test, Production). 
  • Create, maintain, and troubleshoot subscriptions and validation rules to support controlled data movement and governance policies. 
  • Develop and support EDM automations to streamline metadata loads, exports, integrations, and system synchronization. 
  • Own and support automation-related activities, including the use of TOSCA for automated testing. 
  • Utilize third-party tools for data validation and metadata validation to ensure data quality, compliance, and cross-system consistency. 
  • Support integrations between EDM and: 
  • Oracle EPM Cloud applications 
  • Oracle ERP systems 
  • SAP ERP and SAP Master Data Governance (SAP MDG) / SAP EDM environments 
  • Other enterprise data platforms 
  • Partner with Finance, IT, and Data Governance teams to define metadata standards, naming conventions, and change management processes. 
  • Provide SOX audit support by supplying system evidence, control documentation, and responding to internal and external audit inquiries. 
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for hierarchies, mappings, validation rules, governance workflows, and control procedures. 
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance metadata governance, automation, and data quality. 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Licentiate degree in Computer Science or related
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle Enterprise Data Management Cloud Service (EDMCS) or similar master data platforms such as SAP Master Data Governance (SAP MDG), SAP EDM, or other enterprise MDM solutions. 
  • Strong understanding of master data governance principles, including hierarchy management, attribute governance, and metadata lifecycle management. 
  • Hands-on experience with: 
  • Views, viewpoints, node types, and application registration in EDMCS 
  • Subscriptions and validation rule configuration 
  • Metadata migrations across environments 
  • Oracle Data Management integrations 
  • Python / Jython 
  • Desirable / Additional Skills: 
  • Angular 
  • TypeScript 
  • NestJS 
  • Experience implementing and managing EDM security frameworks and workflow approvals. 
  • Experience developing EDM automations and metadata integration processes. 
  • Experience using third-party tools for data and metadata validation. 
  • Familiarity with integration pipelines, APIs, and automation frameworks. 
  • Experience with TOSCA for automated testing and regression validation. 
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. 
  • Solid understanding of governance, internal controls, and SOX compliance requirements. 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across global teams and time zones.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience integrating EDM with Oracle EPM (FCCS, Planning, EPCM). 
  • Experience supporting SAP ERP or SAP MDG master data environments. 
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Groovy, Python) for automation. 
  • Experience in global, multi-entity enterprise environments. 
  • Experience supporting enterprise data governance councils or data stewardship programs.
