About the role: 

Boston Scientific (BSC) believes that to grow our business, we must grow our people.  The People Services Associate Director manages the delivery of HR Generalist capabilities across the LATAM region while applying business knowledge and human resources expertise to strive towards best-in-class services.  Additionally, this role will drive initiatives focused on continuous improvement activities, such as enhancing the effectiveness of the team, improving the employee experience, engaging with HR leadership on shared objectives, and exploring the use of technologies to best optimize the team’s services. 

This role plays a strategic role in leading the expansion and adoption of our HR Operating Model to scale for growth and will partner with HRLT, HRBPs, COE colleagues and business clients to determine priorities in these areas and then execute on solutions which meet those needs. BSC is looking for a driven and credible HR Leader who understands and can represent the needs of the region, partner effectively as one HR voice, and enables a consistent, scalable service to the organization.

 

Your responsibilities will include:   

  • Manage a team of HR professionals in the achievement of organizational goals. Guide, coach, direct, train and develop their HR functional knowledge in the areas of employee coaching, performance management, facilitation, employee relations, policy interpretation and other complex matters requiring HR consultation.
  • Partner with colleagues on opportunities to drive new ways of working, in particular working closely with HR Operations colleagues to leverage technology and our service delivery model and with global peers to create a common experience
  • Allocate resources and optimize resource availability to align with People Services Goals & Objectives and HR Strategic priorities
  • Influences leaders, and key stakeholders, to take action/ adopt recommendations important to achievement of area goals
  • Foster a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives and build a strong team culture, modeling behaviors that support our high performing, caring and collaborative environment
  • Understand key customers (Employees & HR community) requirements and processes to align the team's priorities and solutions to meet end user expectations.
  • Ensure HR services are delivered in compliance with corporate policies and procedures and applicable laws
  • Manage escalated complex cases, as needed, to support overall service delivery in addition to ensuring assignment of cases and projects based on tiered support structure
  • Support issue resolution by providing guidance and feedback on root-cause analysis and defining intervention plans to address issues systemically. Act as point of escalation and ownership for any issue resolutions with HR services provided
  • Identify ways to improve service, processes, policies, and procedures by identifying trends through data, while optimizing service delivery through learning and feedback
  • Lead, drive and collaborate on continuous improvement across HR service delivery operations, HR COEs and HR Business Partners to improve core HR processes by demonstrating a continuous improvement mindset
  • Act as a Change Champion to support change management activities and further adoption of the model

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Advanced degree preferred
  • Strong cultural competence
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and discretion
  • Excellent communication skills
  • People leader experience
  • Ability to influence at all levels in the organization and success in working in a matrixed organization
  • Shared service experience preferred
  • English and Spanish proficiency
