About the role:
Support the design, development and test of embedded software (firmware) for both implantable and external neuromodulation devices.
Work Mode:
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring employees to be in our Costa Rica Global Hub office at least three days per week.

Your responsibilities will Include:
- Design, develop, and test firmware for implantable neural stimulators, chargers and handheld remote-control devices.
- Participate in the development of specifications, architecture, designs, schedules & test plans related to product development activities & product upgrades.
- Use standard design processes to support product development & improve productivity.
- Frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
- Provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity. Works under general supervision.
- Follows established procedures. Able to interpret complex information to address regulatory challenges.
- Detail oriented, reviewing work for soundness of technical judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy
- Contribute to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer, electrical or electronic engineering or related field. 5+ years of work experience in their field.
- 5-7 years of experience in microcontroller Firmware Development. Medical device industry, under IEC62304, is a plus.
- Professional experience with C/C++ programming languages.
- Scripting languages, like PHP and/or Python is a must.
- Knowledge in firmware for a variety of 8,16,32-bit processors from multiple vendors programmed in C/C++ and assembly language is a plus.
- Good communication skills. Ability to work with local and remote teams.
- English level: 85%+
