About the role:


  • Unique opportunity to develop and implement product technologies to solve customer and operational facing issues for
  • external medical equipment, reporting into the Electronic Medical Equipment (EME) department.
  • The individual in this role will support new product development and sustaining engineering team solutions to multi-faceted customer and operational issues, requiring applied in-depth problem-solving competencies.


Your responsibilities include:


  • Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for design of external electrical medical equipment for new product development projects as well as sustaining engineering and value improvement projects.
  • Analyze and assesses product operation and make recommendations for optimal device management Develop technical knowledge of Competitive Products and Systems to enable product solutions Maintain up-to-date general industry knowledge
  • Continuously improves process and work methodologies by interfacing with peers/cross-functional groups and analyzing activities to improve workflow and work processes
  • In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures
  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Possess the ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships across Departments – R&D, Sales, Marketing, Quality, Operations and with customers
  • Provide Technical support, as required, to technology and product development teams
  • Must be a Self Starter, manage own time and prioritize based on business priorities.


What we’re looking for:

Required Qualifications:


  • Degree in Electrical, Computer engineering or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 2–4-year experience OR Master’s Degree with 0–2-year experience Medical device industry experience
  • Solid lab skills and experience with debugging, fixtures, general test setup for electronic designs Strong communications and time management abilities
  • Requirements adherence principles and understanding (product specifications, etc.) Test protocol determination familiarity
  • Prior experience working with external vendors
  • Travel on average 10% to BSC divisions and suppliers world-wide


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience with medical device industry standards-based EMI/EMC
  • Experience with medical derive electronics and systems – specifically in Electrophysiology (EP) or Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM)
  • Experience in working with contract manufacturers and/or material suppliers
