The Implantable Electronic Pump (IEP) Program Manager is a strong collaborative leader of an exciting breakthrough technology and product development program.  This role will be responsible for product development of the IEP, which is a key aspect of a transformational program in the Urology/Pelvic Health business unit.  This role will also hold key leadership position on the overall core team responsible for a new, transformational, active implantable medical device system.


Key Responsibilities


  • Provide strong program management for a novel electronic implantable pump.
  • Identify, plan and define tasks and resource requirements for key activities required for success including modeling multiple scenarios and developing contingency plans where appropriate.
  • Manage and control workstreams and budget.
  • Confirm solutions will meet the long terms needs of the UroPH business unit while leveraging BSC capabilities. 
  • Own full product life cycle including key initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing processes; develops and implements project plan; builds team ownership and commitment to project plan; mentors and/or coaches other functional and project managers.
  • Actively participate in the overall system core team;  accountable for the execution of activities related to the development of implantable electronic pump.
  • Able to manage large (often multi-project, multi-site) cross-functional development teams; effectively lead teams; provide input to functional managers on team and team member performance and opportunities for systemic process improvements.
  • Manage the technical challenges expected with new product development; identifies, communicates, and manages moderate to high levels of technical risk.  Influence resolution of cross-functional issues.
  • Responsible for team and cross-functional communications; lead phase and business reviews, publish project meeting minutes, maintain issues log, metrics, and other key communications.  Communicates up, down and across the organization. 


Required Qualifications


  • Previous program management experience related to implantable medical devices.
  • 5-7 years of experience of project management experience on technical programs.
  • Demonstrated project management experience; use of project management tools (MS Project, Risk Register, Resource & Budget Planning and Control, visual management)
  • Experience with Class III medical product development; 3+ years managing programs
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), emotional intelligence and influencing skills, including presentation to internal executive teams and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% including some international travel (post Covid).


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience in design and development of active implantable medical devices (AIMD) / Class III therapy delivery products
  • Demonstrated project management experience leading core teams with team members across multiple locations
  • 7+ years’ experience in a technical project management for a medical device company
  • Experience with remote, global teams
  • Experience working with the FDA and EU Notified Bodies
  • PMP® Certification
