About the role:


We are looking for a dynamic, innovative, and results-oriented professional in sales, sales operations, or marketing to lead and drive strategic initiatives and operations within the Sales Enablement organization. This role requires a strong partnership with divisional and functional stakeholders.

 

The Associate Director of Strategic Initiatives and Operations plays a crucial leadership role, overseeing aspects of the Sales Enablement strategic and annual operational plans. They will collaborate with divisions to manage sales priorities, lead program management for US Sales Operations initiatives, and implement enterprise-wide programs that align with commercial priorities and related functions.

 

As the Associate Director, you will be responsible for prioritizing key programs and partnerships with stakeholders across Sales Enablement. This includes developing the Sales Enablement strategic plan, collaborating with finance to create and implement budgets, and evolving the priorities of sales teams. Throughout the strategic planning period, you will collaborate with various teams within the organization, including analytics, shared services, and other transformative capabilities.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

Strategic Leadership:

  • Leading key strategic priorities for Sales Enablement and fostering collaboration across the organization.
  • Collaborating closely with Sales Enablement and US Sales Operations leadership to align on cross-divisional sales projects that enhance sales productivity and impact.
  • Transforming enterprise business priorities into valuable programs for our commercial teams.
  • Partnering with peers in Sales Enablement, Finance, and other functions to develop the strategic plan for Sales Enablement.
  • Reviewing and interpreting budget results and making trade-off decisions within Sales Enablement to achieve financial objectives.
  • Considering long-term market perspectives and company opportunities to develop actionable plans that empower our sales teams.

 

Program and Talent Management: 

  • Leading and inspiring a direct team and managing large-scale programs across the organization.
  • Providing perspective within the sales enablement organization to identify program leverage opportunities and prioritize based on impact/effort.
  • Collaborating with Sales Operations and Sales Enablement peers to prioritize initiatives that foster harmony, efficiency, and leverage, such as contracting, commissions, or reporting.
  • Collaborating with functional partners (marketing, digital, IT, GBS, customer care, others) to identify end-to-end opportunities that enhance the customer experience.
  • Hiring, retaining, developing, and inspiring the team.
  • Creating and communicating a vision and culture of high performance, innovation, a winning spirit, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Leading by example in upholding our values.

 

Influence Management

  • Working across reporting lines to drive alignment, which is crucial for the success of Sales Enablement.
  • Utilizing influence and change management principles to align the organization on strategic priorities.
  • Demonstrating a strong track record of leading transformative or evolutionary change that enhances our market approach and customer service.
  • Collaborating with multiple stakeholders both within and outside the selling organization.
  • Understanding change management processes and best practices.
  • Communicating effectively with all stakeholders.


What we’re looking for:

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline (Business, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Technology or another related field)
  • 10+ years of experience working with Sales and Marketing in selling, strategy, operations, or finance
  • 3+ years of experience of team leadership and people development
  • 3+ years of comprehensive program management experience leading large-scale initiatives 


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (MBA)
  • Demonstrated success working in a team environment, and past management experience providing leadership, development and coaching to a high performing team 
  • Experience leading strategic initiatives and a strategic planning process Medical Device or previous Boston Scientific experience
  • Financial acumen with the ability to make trade-off decisions across multiple functional areas.
  • Highly motivated, high impact individual with strong technical, analytical and leadership competencies
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to make contributions to performance and revenue growth
  • Strong project management skills, including effectively managing multiple priorities
  • Candidate must possess strong initiative and a demonstrated pro-active mentality
  • Process oriented, with a focus on continuous process improvements
  • Able to rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities
  • Strong process and program management background with an exceptional understanding of sales and marketing needs
