About this role:
The Associate EH&S Director leads the development and implementation of EH&S strategies to ensure environmental protection and a safe working environment for all essential operating locations within in the North America region. This role partners with a network of EH&S and Occupational Health professionals across the region, while establishing a two-way connection between senior leadership and site operations to drive global initiatives.
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing a regional EH&S strategy that delivers the required EH&S performance and supports business needs
- Creating and maintaining process to identify and address local EH&S issues and challenges to ensure high performance
- Ensuring acquisition integrations into the global supply chain are properly supported and align with the new BSC culture, programs, and operational requirements
- Providing leadership within the EH&S community across all key North America locations to establish a common purpose and focus on key performance
- Developing skills, competencies and abilities within the EH&S team to meet the current and future business needs on local and global levels
- Providing core operational guidance for all key North America locations to ensure compliance to the Global EHS policy, standards and external regulations
- Actively tracking and reporting EH&S performance targets, while providing escalation and response mechanisms where appropriate
- Providing support for commercial EH&S programs as required, particularly in cases of overlap with GSC
- Fostering an EH&S culture that acknowledges and celebrates positive performance
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or EH&S-related discipline with at least 8 years of experience managing EH&S systems and programs for a large organization
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading, coaching and influencing EH&S teams in a campus setting or across multiple locations
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal EH&S regulations including EPA and OSHA operations; experience engaging with regulatory agencies
- Ability to travel up to 10%
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree in engineering, science, or EH&S-related discipline
- Experience working in medical device or similarly regulated industry
- Results-oriented with strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize competing tasks
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.
Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
