About the role:
Boston Scientific is looking for a Senior Clinical Technology Manager responsible for leading our Clinical Data Lake and Reporting programs. This dynamic role covers working across all BSC Clinical divisions and regions. This is an exciting opportunity to partner with Functional Leaders and engage in collaborative efforts to deliver Enterprise Clinical Reporting and Clinical Built Application Solutions.

We identify and create enterprise data standards and reports designed to improve the clinical operations for our six major divisions.  This leadership role engages our business stakeholders to enable the most efficient, effective and competitive global capabilities for the company.
In this role, you will work with dynamic and strong Clinical Leadership and manage business and technical resources representing robust capabilities already in place.  You will work to enable best in class reporting from various Clinical systems that operate on the latest Cloud Platforms.

Within Global Clinical Operations, our mission is to build a world class shared clinical technology team to enable compliant and valued solutions for divisional partners. One example to achieve this mission by enabling technical solutions and reporting designed to improve overall clinical operations. In additional, this role will provide leadership, vision and direction for Clinical information systems and information technology on a Global basis.
 
Your responsibilities with include:

  • Leading technology Teams that continually implement, innovate, and evolve our enterprise clinical data lake, reports and applications.
  • Define Technology Strategy with stakeholders to drive digitization and transformation, playing a leadership role in defining IT strategic plans and annual operating planning processes.
  • Assures that technology solutions enable the business and business processes and deliver information for decision making.
  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and operation of Global technology solutions within their sphere of influence. Manage budget planning, financial forecasting and tracking.
  • Analyzes the needs of functional departments and establishes detail level objectives, goals, and priorities for implementing IT solutions to support functional initiatives or provide ongoing systems support.
  • Support development of COEs within GCO and help identify new technology to bring operational excellence to COEs.
  • Articulates Product Vision and Strategy to the team, to stakeholders, and to external parties.  Establishes Product Roadmap in collaboration with Product Owners, business stakeholders, the GCO organization and IT.
  • Identifies opportunities for cost avoidance/savings through product and process improvements.
  • Primary communication and link between GCO, IT, divisions and stakeholders.
  • Engages with regional teams to understand their business requirements and ensures they are included in implementation strategies for expanded functionality.
  • Responsible for the final product of the development process; includes inspecting and evaluating progress through each phase.
  • Identifies new strategic platforms and/or processes that allow BSC to get the most value across a variety of needs.
  • Develop high-performing teams and capabilities and strong relationships with divisional clinical teams. Lead a team of Senior Managers, Business Leads and Technical Leads in the setting and achievement of organizational goals, development of capabilities and leading project execution.
  • Be a champion for Product Teams that operate on Agile Frameworks to deliver fast-paced solutions and ongoing solution improvements.
  • Oversee project execution across a portfolio of projects ensuring effective execution, proactive handling of issues, and continual improvement in delivery. Identify new technology that adds value and bring efficiency to business operations.
  • Ensure the IT solutions that support BSC’s quality system within their teams are managed for internal and external compliance requirements and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Foster a diverse and engaging workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.

 
Required qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, management, or related field, master’s degree/MBA preferred 
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in Clinical Operations and Technology roles of increasing responsibilities in business and corporate roles in life science industry (device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology or healthcare) or company that operates in a highly regulated environment
  • A minimum of 4 years experience managing teams 
  • Strong business stakeholder management, people management and consultative experience required 
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements governing clinical trials
  • Strong experience working with clinical data to produce large scale solutions and standards for enterprise execution. 
  • Experience partnering with IT, Vendor and/or Business Customers on projects 
  • Proven ability to navigate organizational network to get to the right person 
  • Financial acumen required; budget management experience required
  • Up to 15% travel required

 
Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree, preferably an MBA
  • Project Management (PM) certification
  • Have strong experience/expertise in program management in a global environment, gained through managing large complex projects
  • Has applied experience using project and program management methodology and techniques
  • Ability to problem solve, risk management and time management
  • Ability to develop collaborative partnerships that lead to influence and compromise and can communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders and members of the team
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Good knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures
  • Ability to find innovative ways to resolve problems
  • Demonstrated success in building and managing global teams, mentoring, and developing team members
  • Self-starter who is a team player, with the ability to be effective in a dynamic, evolving, and fast-paced environment.
