About the Role:
At Boston Scientific, the Global Supply Chain Planning COE Director is responsible for designing and sustaining the SI&OP (Sales, Inventory & Operation Planning) and long-term planning processes at BSC. These includes the subprocesses of Demand Planning, Statistical Forecasting, Supply Planning, Capacity planning, Production Scheduling, Inventory planning and optimization, Replenishment, and operational Reporting. The key objective of the role is to increase the maturity of the planning/execution processes and enhance them in the face of evolving business needs to meet BSC’s revenue growth, profitability, and cash flow goals.
Your Responsibilities Include:
- Improve the maturity of the SI&OP process with better visibility to capacities, integration with long-term planning and tighter alignment with key products and resiliency planning.
- Support the continued execution of Portfolio health review processes across divisions and regions with the goal of elimination the long tail of families and UPN’s.
- Improve key processes like Statistical Forecasting, Constrained Supply Allocation, Customer Available to Promise date communication, Subassembly planning, Purchase planning and Distribution SI&OP with a goal of improving planner productivity, process effectiveness and reducing process cycle times.
- Ensure the smooth execution of processes in Kinaxis Rapid Response with very high uptime and availability.
- Enable enhancements to systems and processes to facilitate integration of new acquisition and network changes.
- Partner with Planning and Material Directors to understand business dynamics and evolving business process needs. Enable effective collaboration with the business partners to ensure the success of process and system changes.
- Drive Prioritization of work encompassing different areas (process improvements, acquisition integration, network changes, system maintenance) to ensure optimal usage of constrained resources while meeting critical business needs.
- Sustain strong relationships with our IT partners as well as key SAAS vendors.
- Work closely with the Magellan project team in the design, development, testing and rollout of new end to end planning processes.
- Manage a team of experienced supply chain process experts and foster a culture of strong collaboration and delivery excellence.
- Drive the consistent delivery of on-site and online training to enable the effective utilization of processes and tools by new users. Continue the improvement of training content and day in the life of planner's support tools.
- Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports BSC’s Quality Policy, Quality System and appropriate regulations for the areas supported.
What We’re Looking For:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or related fields.
- Seven plus years broad Materials Management and/or Supply Chain Management experience.
- Five plus years of Materials Management people leadership experience.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to successfully interact at all levels of the organization.
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent facilitation/communication skills
- Self-motivated independent worker
- Experience interaction with international planning/marketing organizations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience designing and utilizing SAP, Rapid Response, and other Advanced Planning solutions.
- APICS certification
- MBA with emphasis in Operations Management
- Lean Manufacturing exposure or experience
