Boston Scientific is seeking a highly motivated Senior R&D software engineer to be a part of a team that tests Web applications.
Be a part of Boston Scientific's Rhythm Management R&D team to develop innovative products that sustain and improve the lives of patients around the world. You will use your technical and collaboration skills alongside your passion for innovation and continuous improvement to drive growth through efficient and effective development of new products. Develop automated test cases using Java, Junit and Selenium to test requirements for a Class III medical device remote monitoring system. Responsibilities include analyzing requirements, designing, implementing, debugging, and modifying test cases for a commercial safety-critical medical software web application. May interface with Systems Engineers or other user representatives to define or modify application requirements, design and/or implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, debugs, and modifies test scripts that evaluate software applications against software requirements using Java.
- Documents software development and/or test development by writing documents, reports, memos, change requests. Methods used are determined by approved procedures and standards
- Uses automation testing tools such as Selenium WebDriver for web application testing.
- Tracks software development effort by creating and maintaining records in the approved tracking management tool.
- Solves engineering problems by analyzing the situation and recommending corrective or alternative actions.
- Analyzes, evaluates, verifies requirements, software and systems by using software engineering practices.
- Uses version management tool to manage test assets in a concurrent design environment.
- Collaborates with requirements and development teams to coordinate resolution of software errors.
- Works remotely with the remote R&D team members in updating and enhancing Latitude subsystem tests
- Continuously improves process and work methodologies by interfacing with peers/cross-functional groups and analyzing activities to improve workflow and work processes.

Required Skills and Experience:
- 5+ Years SW development or automated test development with BS Software Engineering or a related field, or
- 2-4 Years SW development or automated test development with MS Software Engineering or related field
- Proficient in Java 1.8 or higher
- Strong Experience writing automated tests using frameworks like Junit, Selenium or Appium for Multi browser RESTful API/applications
- Experience using Continuous Integration tools like Gitlab or Jenkins
- Testing experience in a regulated environment (Class III medical devices, defense, aerospace)
- Experience testing commercial GUI products, Web applications
- Experience using Kanban or other Agile based development methodologies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of database tables to assist in creating testing data and debugging issues found in testing
- Capacity to multi-task several testing activities concurrently
- Working knowledge of defect tracking systems such as JIRA
- Working knowledge of Windows 10, Mac, Android and iOS operating systems
- Experience in mentoring team members
- Past experience working with LATITUDE NXT remote monitoring system
- Past experience working with remote team(s)
- Experience with Groovy, Geb, Spock
- Experience with SQL
- Knowledge of Test methodologies and strategies
